Speaking of "outing" people. I know of three ladies that stalked Friga non-stop for the better part of an entire day.  :P  Anyone care to share that story? :)

Deen Castronovo looked the best I've ever seen him. After having a very open and candid conversation with him I have a new found respect for that man. What a great dude. I told him I had never been a huge fan of his drumming and that something had happened from last year to this one. He said he has his affairs in order and is doing well. Told him I was happy to hear that and that I needed to mention that his drumming has never sounded better. The sincere look and "Thank you" he gave me was possibly my favorite moment of the weekend. I also thought he was going to cry when he saw Lula holding Wyatt. Man, what a great experience. 8)

The way I first heard this story really cracked me up -- Saint John CAN be very candid at times!

Hey, thanks! Hearing those nice things softens her up on my "boarding". Yes, she's a great girl, and I'm blessed to have ever met her. This will be our 8th year together.

Oh, btw... how could I have forgotten this pic? I took this especially for Dan...

Holy shit, what was the large, $24.95? How they can charge prices like that with a straight face is beyond me.

Bought 2 beers and walked over to Friga's side and got to about the tenth row and yelled out "Friga" a couple times and gave Ross a thumbs up. All good, until Toomey saw me.

Yep & I didn't pay attention to the price, but I figured afterwards it was better to lose $8 that way than in the casino right? Justification?

We had a lot of fun with both of you as well! I'm really, really glad Vegas worked out so as it did, as I'm sad to say, unless there is something a bit closer down the pike, it may be our last MR event for a while. I would absolutely love to fly out to several per year, but I've really hogged the vacation planning for '08 with my little rock excursions (Dallas, Vegas, and next, Louisiana to see ASIA next month). Plus, looks like I will be taking an unrelated trip in early July that can't be passed up.

'08 vacation plans were kind of bungled, because though we have always vacationed together, this year she'd planned to go to FL to stay in a condo for a week with her family -- they enjoy big family vacations like that with her sister, aunts, etc. (not my thing) Me, I don't like to take too many full weeks off, but prefer a few "extended weekends" throughout the year -- (usually Fri-Sat, or possibly including Thu). That way also, I don't shoot all my vacation time in 1 trip. We both get 2 weeks vacation per year, but realistically, only about 5-6 vacation days from work are really used, the rest being used for situations like taking off if little girl gets sick.

So anyway, the ASIA and Vegas trips were originally going to be my little getaways as it appeared we would be vacationing separately this year -- only when I mentioned each trip, she got excited and absolutely insisted on going with me. That was awesome, and it really made my day. Unfortunately, to make Vegas become half of our real "vacation" together, it removed the possibility of her going to FL. Next year I've promised her she'll be picking the trips, and I have a feeling we'll be doing cruises or something. I'll see what I can do though to sneak away to anoher MR event soon -- solo, I travel very light and inexpensively. Absolutely no $3/$4 bottles of water or Diet Mountain Dews...

Image

By the way, she told me to be sure and tell everyone how much fun she had meeting and hanging out with all of ya! It really helped me out for her to see how great the folks on the board are.
