Albums where you liked EVERY song on the record

Voted Worlds #1 Most Loonatic Fanbase

My criteria for this is.... if I was in my car listening to an album on my Ipod (ie where at the press of a button I could easily switch to any one of hundreds of other albums) would I happily listen to it the whole way through or would I skip any track. On that basis there are very few albums I think are flawless from start to finish. Even excellent albums invariably have one or two songs that I simply don't have the patience to listen to. Those that do satisfy this criteria and which I will happily invest an hour or so of my time to include:-

Rush - Hold Your Fire, Moving Pictures, Signals, Snakes & Arrows
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Talisman - 7
Jimmy Barnes - Freight Train Heart
Camel - Rajaz
Sammy Hagar - Standing Hampton
Paul Rodgers - Cut Loose

I find it really interesting to note how often Rush appear in these sort of lists. They are of course my favourite band so I notice these things LOL. Now Journey I can understand getting mentioned a lot as this is after all a Journey board, but after them, it seems to me that Rush get mentioned more often than anybody else - a testament to the consistent quality of their output.

Gotta agree with that, awesome album

It's an interesting question, actually. I did quite some thinking and there's not many albums I know which only have great songs. As big a Toto fan I am there's no single Toto cd I like entirely. Even my fav. Isolation has a weak track (Holyanna). Same goes for Whitesnake's 1987 and Journey's Escape and Frontiers.

Exactly, it isn't that easy, hand on heart to say every track is great. That first Giant album was not just composed it was crafted, every last note, nothing Dan Huff and co. did was surplus to requirement. Funny, I wrestled with Isolation too for Hollyanna and to a degree, Stranger in Town which hass essence of cheese throughout.... saw Giant once thank God i did they were mind-blowing.

Yeah, I can't believe how long the list is of some people. I have many favorite albums, but albums with ONLY great songs are very few.

LOL! That's my FAVORITE track on that album

Seriously?

While the rest of the album is high energy melodic rock, this song is so left of centre, nothing like the rest of the album.

The new Scorpions album is absolutely amazing. Probably the best of 2007 right there.

Michael, I'm just a musical whore - it doesn't take much for me to love every song on a record!

No, that's not entirely true. But I admit, I don't have the exacting standards some others do.

BTW...I just sent a third email to Ass (Czar) tonight. I know he's putting the finishing touches on his solo CD, so that may explain why I haven't heard back from him yet.

Looking forward to the new record, my man. Love your stuff...outstanding.

Yeah, because the fact he had the most perfect voice in the history of contemporary music, and was a stratospherically talented song- and melody- writer just won't cut it. Fucking ROR Hall of Shame. Assholes!!!

To say ANY greatest hits albums among bands just doesn't do justice to this difficult thread so I'm staying away from that..

So I can only think of 2 as a whole that the whole CD feels like it's a 5 min cd.

#1 Hootie and the Blowfish
#2. Arrival- Journey

Props for listing the Paul Stanley album (not a bad tune on it! Good call) and , damned if you didn't pull out LORD TRACY! That WAS a killer album! ("This is a song about FISH...") LOVE IT! I saw those guys twice at a club I used to play in Nash-vegas, and they were some damned nice dudes who put one one HELL of a show! They did a KILLER cover of Lizzy's COWBOY'S SONG. Good times...
