It's okay - henceforth - I know that getting this many hits on it (last show got almost 600 hits, a lot from here, a lot from other places) that my home server on a cable modem connection won't handle it -. I'll just 'have' to use megaupload. It's not that it's a TOTAL pain in the ass, it's just that I know I have to give myself an extra few hours to post a show instead of just sending it across the room. Those of you who aren't familiar with Megaupload, it's nothing difficult. And if you have the megamanager, you can get the shows in a couple of minutes. It's just a revelation on my part. I've been so used to serving these off of a server I "paid" for, the idea of serving them off of a server I own is just a trial and error thing.

So, next show, we'll go to megaupload. Shoudlnt' be too many objections to that I guess.

Thanks for the feedback and not being complete and total DICKS about the slowness like some people at another board are being.

I dont own a les paul.

And guys. You are going to flame me horribly. But this has to stop. it's maxing out my processor. It's not just you guys - it's hosted on my blog, sent out in email, and on another forum as well, and it's burning up the processor - I'm 100% maxed out on ram and processor usage....

I'M SORRY.

First thing in the morning.....I will post a link here to a megaupload file you can all get it from at a better rate.

I'm very sorry, but at the same time I'm very proud to have the listenership. It is MOST appreciated.

Thanks to all who were extremely patient in the whole "server" mess of last night (Larry, Rip, BlueSkies).

I've put the show up on megaupload. It's nothing difficult to use. Just click the link, enter the captcha, wait a few seconds, and it'll download for you. Most people familiar with p2p and the likes know what megaupload is.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QXZD59VM

It looks like, going forward, this will have to be the way to share these files, as I had NO WAY of anticipating the server load.

I'm kinda humbled by it. Thanks!

Yep, we are the patient ones..diehard Journey and Perry fans have to be....Ha!...I was also the other " good one" you referenced last night.(.although I'm actually right across the river. ).....Wow! That works! Downloaded in the amount of time it took me to type this. Cool...I'll put it on my iPod and move to your grooves when I'm at the gym today. Thanks! 8)

yeah but that can only get so old before you get boring....I've done shows dedicated to strictly "live" and strictly "this" or 'completely that". It gets boring after a while...but I agree. I like the stuff too....

I was talkin with a few of my radio cohorts over dinner, some of the guys who help me produce the show...and we were brainstorming. My wife suggested a show called "Second Banana". Dedicated to the music of those who AREN'T the "big" member in the band.

Brian May, Roger Taylor, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Richie Sambora...the likes.

Who Else Could We Add to the list?

yeah...but 70's....just isn't what "venom nation'' stands for...it's more about the 80's and 90's...and 'rock' - there might be a little bit of this or that here and there...but really thats' what I wrote it for...while I have a ton of stuff, and could easily do another show altogether, it's just not "me" - I'm not "Groovy"....I WANNA ROCK!

"Second Banana" is on the back burner effective right.....now......one of my cohorts and I were chatting, and we just came up with something FAR cooler. No hints. You'll just have to rock out when I put it out...

couple weeks maybe...gonna take some time to perfect this, and honestly, I don't ahve a lot of free time comin up.

The New Venom Nation Site is in place, and will launch with the next show, on April 1, 2008. Make note of my very cool logo I designed (Sarcasm on).

Going forward the digits are as follows:

URL: http://venomnation.890m.com
Email: venomnation@mchsi.com

If you visit, you’ll notice there’s just a counter and that aforementioned very cool logo up. We’re building the back end of the site at the present time, and we’re trying to determine the best format for it. A Forum system would be ideal, but it would require registration, and I don’t want to do that. The wordpress idea is at the forefront, as it works…and allows people to leave comments without registering…and download without any hassle. We’re also looking into some other platforms, but at the moment, that’s leading the way. It will launch, as noted, with the next show on April 1. My cohorts and I are currently putting together the playlist for that show, which is tentatively titled “Kick Off The Covers, Let’s Rock!” , and it looks to feature about 20 songs. Unfortunately, we will have to host via megaupload, because of the traffic we received, but it’s a reliable method and we get very few complaints. With the added publicity of the two new forums I’ve become part of since the first show, my home-based server couldn’t handle the traffic…nearly 800 hits in short time…more than some of my “w*bo g*es v*cal” shows were getting over any length of time. This will be the third show, and going forward, we’re going to try and produce about once a month…at relatively the same time

Your input is always wanted….as we always look to improve the show.

Feel free!

Remember…Live To Rock, Rock To Live. Quoeth Dokken. Nevermore.

Steve

The mike popping isn't audible here - but when I listen back to it - it is. I have a windscreen on the mike...I don't know why it's doing it but I'll hit it with a hiss and pop filter next time, and that'll be that - got a couple mentions of that from a few other people too.

LOL -- It DOES have a great hook! But being non-commercial was the point -- Steve wanted something that wasn't one of their bigger hits. That song is still a Dokken classic, though.

Oh absolutely. To say that's not classic dokken is like saying "edge of the blade" or "mother, father" isn't classic journey....Rip gave me exactly what I was lookin for...but I don't think the comment made by larry was a slight towards anyone..

Oh...and whilst some of you will appreciate it, I felt it was time to lose the old instrumental theme song of the show, and find something a little more suitable. I hope it was obvious the theme of the show was based on a song lyric...Therefore..

For the Ripper....and anyone else who listens....
