Im just wondering how her boyfriend ever got to go.... Did they have two bathrooms, or did he have to go outside and dig a hole, or go in the shower, etc?

I'm sure you're right Barb. It's sad that she had to "live" like that without proper medical help.

I'm wondering what they did on Christmas morning to exchange gifts. It might be the one time you can purchase a plunger for your significant other, and get away with it

I'm thinking Thanksgiving might have had a weird vibe to it, as well  This is truly one of the most fucked up stories I've ever read, in my entire life! I thought it was a joke, until I started seeing the story on the local news. Crazy stuff!

Geez, I thought this was a joke...this is too bizarre! Two years? She slept sitting up? Her blood flow didn't stop & kill her? I'm surprised she could coherently answer the police. No way.

My ass gets sore just sitting in one place for more than an hour or so. I can't imagine how it would feel after more than a day or so, much less two years.

Dude, this is a perfect chance to drink as much beer as possible. If you sit on the toilet, there is no need to take timeout for a bathroom break in between beers. Now all you need is a portable TV and your woman to service you every once in a while.

If you read the article throughly you will find that her mother died when she was youg, and she was kept in the house for most of her childhood. In an article on CNN, it talked about how she was beaten and developed a phobia against going outside. My guess is her poor brain just snapped. Not saying you are, but this is no laughing matter.

But seriously, I cannot wrap my brain around how this could happen. What a pathetic, tragic this is.

No offense, but read the articles at fox news and CNN.com. Excuse my anger here, but she's NOT STUPID. She is sick due to horrid abuse suffered as a child.

No, it's not. I truly mean that.

From original op's link.

"Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years.

He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there."

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/03/13/woman. ... pstoryview

From CNN.com.

McFarren, 36, said he can't be certain how long Pam Babcock stayed in the bathroom because "time just went by so quick I can't pinpoint how long." He said beatings she received in her childhood caused her phobia. Watch neighbors describe what they saw at McFarren's home »

"It just kind of happened one day; she went in and had been in there a little while, the next time it was a little longer. Then she got it in her head she was going to stay -- like it was a safe place for her," McFarren said

This poor woman obviously snappped due to horrible things that happened to her, and all people can do is laugh. Excuse me for being sad about the state of humanity right now. Obviously, the lot of America has never been abused and has no idea of what it does to the mind. Peace be with you, the lucky ones.

People who have everything and act dumb anyway, ala, the Paris Hiltons of this world, deserve our ridicule. Not this lost soul.
