The Stones are arguably #1 on my list. Worlds most popular bar band is more like it. WAY overrated. I like some of their stuff, but I don't get how they remain to play stadiums. Mick's Wandering Spirit album is more entertaining than anything the Stones have done since 1986.


The Stones are worth about two songs to me, Wild Horses and Beast of Burden. Everything else I've heard really just didn't move me. "World's most popular bar band" is an accurate description and also probably is more insightful than you might think as far as their continued popularity/success goes. That, plus, every time you buy a ticket you get to see the world's first mummified lead guitar player play some classic riffs.

No, I love the guitar (and have played most of my life), but I just don't care for certain types of playing. To quote Gene Simmons, "I think car crashes are neat, but you can't tap your foot to 'em.
T Bone is correct, too. I totally missed the point of the thread, and just put up 5 bands I don't really like!
That being said, I DO have great respect for Luke and alot of TOTO's early work. As I said, the first three albums are fantastic. I just think they went to shit after that. I also think Jimi Jamison is a fine singer, I just find the music of SURVIVOR to be so incredibly lame... (except for CAUGHT IN THE GAME, which is a cool tune!)

Actually, I love Abraxas Pool (strange, huh?).

I stand by my Bad English assertion.
Their music was very forgettable and it's a big part of what turned me off to Arrival. Felt like it was Bad English trying to be Journey in a very contrived way. I hope the new Arnel disk isn't more of the same.

Hardline (first album only) much better than Soul Sirkus.
I could have listed Soul Sirkus. Didn't like a thing about it. Felt no chemistry between Neal and JSS on that disk. My hope for Journey was if Jon Cain was in the mix, it would yield something better. JSS knows how to sing from the heart and that's what Cain's melodies need.

Either way, Soul Sirkus (and Abraxas Pool) was less a band and more of an experiment. Both only made one album, so I don't really think they would really qualify for the topic of the thread.

PS: In hindsight, I really should have thrown in Nirvana. Never got that band at all.

I don't care much for most of their music but those guys put on a great live show. They rock much harder live than their studio work shows.

I guess I've NEVER really got the whole Beatles thing. They're a band who probably has recorded at least one song that EVERYONE likes (myself included), but I just never really understood the fascination with their music. For me, most of their music sucks and is beyond annoying! Just my luck, the jackasses on American Idol are making everyone sing Beatles songs for a second week in a row! God help me :shock:

I would have put The Rolling Stones on my list, but the thread said "Good" bands, and I've always thought they sucked! Mick Jagger is offically the worst lead singer (And I mean vocally speaking, because I think he has great energy for a front man, and an old fuck) I've EVER heard in ANY band!
