A Journey,Boston,Foreigner concert around 1983? Say it was an outside event for half a day or so,enough for all 3 to play their songs..How much would you pay and would it be a history making event?

Well, I wasn't making a lot in 1983, but if it were today and they had the line-up and sound of 1983 I'd pretty much sell my soul! :D

I personally think that would be the best line up ever..I would cross the country and spend big bucks on that one!

Maybe the better question to ask is, why do you want to know? Got a time machine and master plan in the works? :D

If I was in the mood for a nostalgia show, I'd go take in that ticket today for sure (depending on price of course). I'd probably be somewhat disappointed given that none of the bands have their popular lineup or vocalist(s), but hey, drink enough and get lost in the nostalgia, right?

Snoozer of a show. WOuldn't want to see Foreigner or Boston. Actually, that lineup would make me want to claw my eyes out.

Given you're talking 83/84, it'd be about $15 for that show (I paid $16.50 for Genesis in '86).

Hey, I am not a joker, and I like your idea, but those bands did all play together in the early 80's. I saw Journey, REO, Cheap Trick and Jefferson Starship in Oakland for Day on the Green and it's costs 15 bucks.

IMHO, you need to throw Foreigner back to the garage circuit, and Boston is no more. Journey and Heart is pretty fucking good. Get BA in there and that's a three headed monster. And make a rule. They can only play stuff pre 1992.

Boston is actually on the road again with Michael Sweet. The jury is very much out on that one.

Since Boston's last record was in 1978 and they didn't release Third Stage until 1986, they didn't have as much of a catalogue from which to choose.

Foreigner hadn't yet released their best record.

If it was post-Frontiers, I would pay $150 in 2008 dollars for that bill.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

I saw Journey and Foreigner open for the Stones at JFK Stadium in 81. The ticket was 15 dollars.( I had to shovel a lot of snow that winter to pay back my parents). George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers were an opening act at the show also. The Philly crowd didn't care to much for Journey but George and the Destroyers stole the show with their act.

I love Journey and Boston, like Foreigner. I'm not sure if Boston had their live show down too well by 83, can anyone comment? I know my dad saw them sometime in the 70s before Don't Look Back and he said it was awful... terrible guitar tones, no attempts at the famous harmonies whatsoever, and they had to play More Than A Feeling two or three times as an encore because they didn't have any other songs.

Assuming Boston had their live act together by 83, I'd pay about 100$ to see that with great seats. Subtract Foreigner and add Styx playing a healthy mix of their good 80s shit up to that point as well some of their good older stuff and I pay $150

That's a good point.. I was going for the singers in their prime.. Anyways,to Deano, this is a what if scenario.. What if it was 86 right now and those 3 bands were playing together..Me personally ,I would literally shit myself! I mean c'mon..Steve Perry,Brad Delp and Lou Gramm..My Lord! And what if they advertised they were going to tribute each other.. Steve Perry singing More than a feeling? Lou Gramm singing Don't stop believing and Brad Delp singing I want to know what love is? I would break the bank to hear that shit!!! Oh and Styx sucks..They can't touch Foreigner...!

A better question would be, "how much would you pay to see near 60 year old Steve Perry and Lou Grahm today?". As much as I respect both artists, that's a tough one.

For one show with a 15 song set list of Journey tunes? Probably at least $3,000. 8)
