Had the Tux and everything... :)

Sigh... that's twice in one year I've almost eloped & missed out. I'm just hard to pin down, I guess! Plus, I couldn't find any Pabst Blue Ribbon.

I almost had the Pabst...but I blew the budget on the tux....

This is my favorite post of the day.

"Opened the Door" never did anything for me.
I like TBF but I also tend to skip over "Don't Be Down On Me Baby"

Journey's three most suck-ass ballads:

1. Open Arms
2 Open Arms
3. Open Arms

That song flat out blows! Neal said it best about "Open Arms" on "Behind The Music" when he said "Man, I just don't get that song"! Neither do I, Neal!

Damn...I forgot "All the Way", too. As much as I like "Arrival", it still has two of the worst Journey power ballads ever.

Oh my god, hahah this is bringing back memories hey. Arrival is good still, I feel anyway. But "All The Way" seems like it was written to be a hit, and it just bombed and made people throw up all over the shop.

Trial By Fire is certainly no ballad. It is however one of the best Journey songs every recorded, a whole new level of song writing for the lads from Journey that day

Total paradox of an answer.
Couldn't be more correct on the former, or further off base on the latter.

I'm sorry...did I stutter? LOL! ;)

They just don't do it for me ESPECIALLY Faithfully....ugh, I can't change the channel fast enough when that song comes on. A lot of it has to do with the fact, I just got SOO burned out on them.

That song was ABSOLUTELY Perry's FINEST vocal performance on TBF.

Great song.

Open Arms - "kind of marry poppins!"
Something to Hide - "not a true ballad but worst song off infinity
Im cyring - The bluesy ballad #1 clowns are creepy anyway
dont be down on my baby - Didnt they learn from Im Crying? hate the chorus, verses aint to bad.
All the Arrival ballads - they all suck big time aint there about 10 of em?(except Kiss me Softly, the most original journey song with SA) should have been the lead single.
Knowin that you love me - Double ack! lyrics are creey too, "if i could go back to the day you were born just to hold you????"
buttefly, makes this song seem rocking!
Butterfly - ACK! What the heck is Journey singing about butterflys,
makes this song seem rocking!

Without ballads like "Open Arms", "Faithfully" and "Lights", Journey wouldn't have gotten the radio play they did. I wish more of you could appreciate the slower songs, I certainly love almost all the music that Journey makes, the hard rockers and the slow groovers.

Don't mean to be down on SA, the guy suffered enough with TG. But I have to say Butterfly is the worst Journey ballad I ever heard, and Believe not far behind. I understand SA wrote both those songs.

That said, there were some pretty bad songs that SP was responsible for, mainly the lame lyrics, in these early ones: Can Do, Homemade Love, the 2 Love Easy songs in Evolution. City of the Angels is pretty bad, too. I don't think he had main writing credit on that one, though.
