Here's the thing - I like challenging and confronting interviews. Too often one has to run a fluff piece merely to promote a new album or project. That has its place, but in other cases I delve a little deeper, such as my John Kalodner interview or some of the other industry folks I have featured over the years.

I like challenging and historical figures - Herbie is all of the above. I like to deliver what people ask for - and a Herbie interview has been much requested over the years.

I conducted and will feature the interview, but I don't put words in the mouths of my interviewees....if he has something to say, be it confrontational or controversial, then that's what it is. Don't shoot the messenger!

If their words are how they want to be remembered, then that is their choice.

Just wait and see....this time next week at the latest I hope.

My understanding is that they get a set amount and it doesn't matter what the album sales are. I honestly think the sales will be huge worldwide and Wal Mart and Music Now will be the ones raking in all the $$$ (per usual).

Probably will be big in terms of Walmart making a lot of money. But judging by REO Speedwagon, it hasn't really helped in regards to being recognized.

I think REO put out a shitty record and weak tour. REO is not Journey, even minus Perry.

This interview will be healthy for Journey. Perry muzzled the Journey boys, but Papa Herbie was the smart one. With every jab, barb and hay maker Herbie throws at Perry, I suspect that somewhere Neal, Jon, Ross and Gregg will be smirking...as well they should be. Herbie is their only outlet. I still find it reprehesible that any man would sew shut the mouths of people he considers"brothers" even if he is infinitely more savvy than said members. Blast that motherfucker, Herbie.

This is so awesome! I cannot wait for the interview to come out. I remember first reading the Castles Burning interview when I had signed up for my account on this forum. I was a huge Journey fan for years but didn't know much about the history of the band. Talk about an eye opener! Herbie certainly doesn't hold anything back. I would be interested to see if he gives his opinion on the new lineup.
