First Time-Grab a molson........

Postby Scotticus83 » Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:23 pm

Okay, here goes. My name is Scott. I am 24 and married with a dog and a cat. My wife and I live in Everett, Washington, because of my job. I am in the US Navy currently, serving as a shore support mechanic for aircraft carriers. I am an avid hockey fan, probably one of the biggest you'll ever meet.....probably because I have been playing for god knows how long now......so, now that you have wasted precious time reading my life story....I am a LONG TIME (almost 2 years now!) lurker. I have gotten many, MANY hours of enjoyment of nearly pissing myself from laughing at Deano's posts, and to be honest, I feel we have known eachother for a long time because I think, feel, and act much like him. Nothing gay Deano, just letting you know you have competition now  . I have enjoyed all the wicked good banter amongst the others like SJ, Voyager ( I see you are from Springfield, Illinois also, my hometown!), ProgRocker, Rhiannon, TRAGChick(ya'll need to quit asking to see her titties.....), and the rest of the crew.....don't feel bad if I have left you out...it's just because it is hella past my bedtime....but I know you are out there in the trenches too. I was riveted during TG, the "Soto Incident", and the psychosis ad-nauseum known as Susie. Good times, bad times, but always the memory. I come here and come out, so to speak now, because I feel it is time to get to really know everyone, and to come to grips with my addiction to Journey. My first memory of Journey...I was 4, and my family was living in Iowa at the time...I would be at home with my mom while she cleaned house...I remember her wearing out her vinyl copy of Escape....along with Survivor-Eye Of The Tiger, Head East-Flat As A Pancake, and a certain special single that she actually searched for all over the country (this is before the internet, no easy feat) of Philip Bailey/Phil Collins-Easy Lover. God bless my parents and their great musical tastes. I may be young, but most 40+ crowd are stunned at my knowledge of music they listened to at my age now. I don't do gangsta rap....that is the reason America is in the sad shape it is in now, well, and thanks to Bush, but I won't even go there. Journey has been my big love since then, and I have seen them a few times....most memorable was my 21st birthday...they played at Music Midtown in Atlanta...2004 it was. REO Speedwagon, followed by Journey...me and my g/f at the time were against the stage center for both...I was knocked the fuck out by the show.....just stunned......especially because I was so close to the stage I couldn't even see Deen-o and didn't even know that was his beautiful voice belting out "Mother, Father." Unreal. I love Perry. He is Journey. I am not a loon, but I can't not listen to classic Journey without getting chicken-skin still to this day. Augeri.......for a long time I thought he was gay...I mean, come on....what guy goes out of the house dressed like that. All you wigglers can get pissed off.....seriously....that look went away a long time ago (I guess nobody told Joe Elliot that though.) What can I say about Jeff Scott Soto....I was on deployment in April of 2006 when the wife emailed me to let me know she had just bought us tickets for two Journey shows two nights in a row, one in Portland, OR and the other in Southern WA........I was ecstatic. Then Augeri left and I got scared. I didn't know anything about JSS, and was very skeptical. I even went into the first show with the mindset that it was going to be a long night. I am SOOOOO fucking glad I was wrong. I have never, ever seen a more amped up, energetic show than the two I saw with JSS at the helm. They would be the last in that fashion that I would see. How sad, and in the manner in which a man who had everything they really needed to take them back to the top......there is a word we use in the Navy for something like that....UNSAT. Enter Arnel......now, with me being a sailor.....anyone who has been in the US Navy in the last 40 or so years knows that the Navy is run by the Filipino Mafia. Ask around, you'll see. They like to make fun of/talk shit about or to/make plans to fuck over/ white and other sailors at every command I have been at. They are generally not nice people in my experiences. With Arnel though, as much as I hate to say it, I think he might be a decent fit.....kinda like the whole "square peg in a round hole" concept. I don't mean to stir any pots or piss off the loons, wigglers, JSS'ers, or Pinoys, but I may as well lay it on the line for everyone up front so that you all know where I stand. No, I am not "locknload" or Faggot Friga (the best, yet worst thing to happen to Journey.....fucking hate irony) or anyone else but me. I love being a fan and I hope that I will make well in here. As a last note......not to suck on Andy's cock or anything, but seriously, the Wombat puts on a second to none show here. He really is about the music and the opinions that we are entitled to as fans, that go with it (unlike BT, welcome to the Third Reich). He puts up with a metric ass ton of kiddie bullshit sometimes......some of you (not naming names) should really take a step back and consider just how lucky we all are that with what all the Bat has going on that he still manages to put on a quality program for us here......not drinking Kool-Aid, just cannot emphasize enough how good a thing we have here, and an outsider's perspective might be the best sometimes......the blinders tend to work to well on some people in internet message forums....not this one, just saying in general....in closing, I look forward to being welcomed into the fold......fuck it. I am just happy to be here. Let's Go

If Cyndy can get her Halloween avatar changed finally, then the least I can do is vow to address the 1/l issue.

Okay......sorry for being an asshole and not adding any breaks in my life story...my bad. I feel warmly welcomed, and for you, Deano, I am down with having some fun in here. Anytime you want to talk hockey, let me know....the Ducks always have and always will suck a fat dork. Thanks for Andy MacDonald and Paul Kariya....you're welcome for Doug Weight and Psycho Pronger....lmao.

Everyone that welcomed me, thank you so much, and I look forward to having the funny things to say now, not just being the one on the outside that reads them. Thanks to the Bat also.......now if I could just get JSS to come in here and throw one in the basket for me.....hmmmm....

Dude, talking pucks is always a good thing. There are many fans in here, like Deb(CGY), RedWingFan(DET), RedJoePa(PHL), Journey69(Buf), Lula(ANA) and Myself(VAN).

Having said that, you have to give it up for Anaheim. They are fucking loaded. Yes, I hate Pronger and wish him Hell, but he is awesome. Add in Teemu, JS, and Needers...man, they are tough.

Dude, Soto sucks in basketball. That ought to get his ass in here.

Anyone watching the NCAA Tourney, watch Stanford's Robin Lopez. Looks exactly like Jeff,.
