Either one is around the same distance for me....haven't been to either venue or spent any time in those city's so I don't know which is better...if the dates are correct...then maybe Cincy since it's on a Saturday?

Cincinnati's the closest for me by a couple hours, and I'd been to that venue before for a JSSourney/Def Lippard show. I haven't been to the Cleveland venue yet but from my experience in both towns Cleveland's a little easier to navigate in/around.

I have to say being from Ohio, one thing that irks me is when they list Blossom being in Cleveland...it's not. It's in Cuyahoga Falls. I lived 20 minutes from it. The same thing was always done with the Richfield Coliseum. It was not in Cleveland, but in Richfield.

Just wanted to get that off my chest...carry on.

Dude, take a limo with a few buds. That's what I'm doing.

You have read my mind...

That would be nice, but a limo from Buffalo Grove to Tinley Park and back would cost a pretty penny. I would also still be sitting in a car for 3 freaking hours! If I go, I'll take off work early and try to beat some of the Friday afternoon traffic.

If I get a couple minutes later today or tomorrow I am going to call to inquire. I am curious to see if it is feasible.

I would be curious to see the prices on these packages.
In my experience the food has not always been that good and at one of the shows they made us pay for
liquor. also it depends on the location of the party vs the venue whether the band shows up or not,
and it is usually one or two of them, mostly deen and ross and SA that came to the party and it
was for about 5 minutes.
also the casino shows say 1-10th row and yet the closest people got despite ordering early was like 4-5th row.
does not seem worth it to me, at this point and I highly doubt anyone from cheap trick or heart will go to the party

Why would you care? You won't be going.

I agree that some ILAA 5* packages are better than others. I think it depends on what the venue charges ILAA to host the party. There's definately a cost for the room, food, drinks and service. I've never been disappointed and at least one member of DL showed up at every show I was at in 2006 and Neal Schon, Ross and Deen showing up at a lot plus JSS on a few. The best was I always got 1st or 2nd row although I know there were some people who ended up with seats that could have been 4*. Some 4* people ended up in 2nd and 3rd row. Just depends on how any packages are purchased. So if you're going 5* you need to buy it early.

BTW - I never paid 500 bucks.

you are right I most likely will not be going. I just thought being that I have used ilaa in the past, that perhaps someone here has not and might be curious about how it worked and what other people thought of it.
There were some that were very good and the food was good and it was wll organized, however, there were some that were not. You make a good point that you need to purchase early like when they go on sale for 5 star, and there were some issues with seat placement/assignment etc, especially at the casino shows.
The high rollers do not like not getting front row, so the first through tenth row rule was not adhered to there.
250-325 is alot of money and I do not think they truely explain things on the website, and the band does not
always show up at the party, so people need to realize that so they will not be disapointed,. the seats are assigned in the order that the packages are purchased so it a gamble where exactly your seats will be,
and in some cases the seats set aside for ilaa are decided upon and what the venue offers ilaa. I ordered right away/within the first 15 minutes for 90% of the shows, and sometimes I did not get within the first 5 rows.
I also thought that for that kind of money, liquor should be included, and it was at 99% of the ones I attended.
The five star I attended in 06 def leppard did not attend the party once.
However in Hershey all of Journey did.
The majority of the shows I attended in 05 and 06 it was worth the money, however I thought someone considering it for the first time might be interested in knowing the things they do not tell you on the website. Never hurts to be informed.

I may have come across a bit harsh, but you have made your position so perfectly clear about how you feel about the band this year. So If I sounded harsh. Sorry.

You're right about explaining 5*. I had really good luck. But they do post that there are no guarantees that any member of the band will show up. Also, autographs and individual pictures are never allowed, which a lot of people don't know. I've got some great group shots though.

I think people are under the impression that they are getting "vip" passes and things and that is not true.
The best show was ac in 05 when SA came to the party and there were like 15 of us so he spent alittle more time.
The other shows it was like you said, mostly group shots and no autographs and individual pics.
Hershey we got really lucky and the whole band came to the party.
The food was not bad for the most part except in ac, they charged them so much money for the room etc that they had
snack foods and pop corn., I went to an ilaa party for dl last year and they made us pay for liquor which I was surprised at.
I recall the party at the beacon was cancelled and we got a refund for part of it,
There were some shows that the band did not come to the party at all.
I think they need to explain more what the package actually includes.
one of shows we waited after and actually got to talk to them after the show and get autographs.
I remember the casino high rollers were not happy we got front row in 05 so in 06 they gave us different seats regardless of the time ordered. It is a nice experience and I did it in 07 for def leppard just to get the tix and for the experience,
that was where we had to pay for liquor. quite a surprise.

When ILAA lists the things that ARE included in the 5* package, it DOES NOT say anything about a meet and greet. It CLEARLY states what IS included. The problem is people don't read and pay attention, so when they don't meet the band, they bitch.

Neither did I. Charlotte was $250 and Orlando $275. Got front row both times.

Everyone but Ross showed in Orlando. We were able to get autographs, but no pictures...no group shot either.

The whole thing is a rip off ,you dont get good seats, you get food that should have been thrown out, maybe some cheap wine, and you might or might not get a chance to meet a band that dosent want to meet with you anyway. If you spend big bucks on this package, your are retarded

I guess I'm retarded then..  I used ILAA quite a few times as Lady Luck stated.. on ALL instances we got front row (except the 4*).
I basically do it for the seats.. I've met the band before and with ILAA it's pretty rushed. It makes no impact to me whether they show
or not.
