Hypathetical situation here.
Has Survivor re-recorded the classics and re-packaged their songs yet, if not - how would you feel if they re-done the whole Jimmy Jamison/Survivor catalog and tried to push it on the general public?
Survivor did re-record Eye Of The Tiger with Jimi Jamison on lead vocals back in about 2000/2001, Dave Bickler was the original lead vocalist of the song. They had intended to release the re-recording on their Reach album, but must have changed their minds because it was never included on the album.
I will always like the original version of EOTT better than the remake, but I'm still happy to listen to the remake from time to time. Everything that I say about Journey re-recording their songs also applies to Survivor redoing theirs. I will always like the originals best, but that doesn't mean that I can't enjoy the remakes either. Now, as I said about Journey, both bands should always make new material their main priority. But if they want to throw in some additional remakes as a bonus, then that's more than fine with me.
