move forward. don't look back.

Christianity is about a relationship. you and Him. let go of the others.

your right,i told my girlfriend the same thing earlier.

excellent.

Max Lucado talks about the stone sack. we tote around this napsack throughout our lives, strapped to our backs, and eveytime something (or someone) annoying happens, we toss a stone over our shoulder to put it in our sack. Pretty soon, we are weighted down with a load of care. why do we do this to ourselves? who knows. but the day I realized this, was a day of freedom for me. we can't change situations and we certainly can't change annoying people (or even get away from them sometimes). so why drag them around with us, everywhere we go, for years on end, weighting ourselves down unnecesessarily. sheesh. "Cast your cares upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. and the things of earth will grow strangely dim., in the light of His glory and grace." (that's a song--I'm singing to you! hehe)

move forward. don't look back.

That worry has always popped up for me. Before I was saved, I was VERY anti-religion and may have said some things in my early youth that are downright unpardonable by any measure... and I've always been too afraid to ask more knowledgeable people about it.. it haunts me.

You Know What To Do

[Verse 1]
Some people think they're happy, livin' for themselves.
But when they're sad they long for something else.
And you can find the answer in an honest way.
To get you thru the sadness, to start a whole new day.
We've found a life that keeps us happy.
Yes, we have and we'll live eternally.
We'll always have the light to see, and so can you.

[Chorus]
Are you feeling lonely?
Are you feeling blue?
Does your life seem empty?
You know what to do.

[Verse 2]
You say you've go some troubles, yeah, oh so many downs.
You need a light to lift you off the ground.
And if your life feels senseless, just accept the Lord.
And He'll make you see things you never have seen before.
An everlasting life abounding, oh yeah.
Yes, He will and He's always giving more.
And His light will never stop shining, it's for you, yes it is.

[Repeat Chorus]

You Won't Be Lonely

[Verse 1]
Won't you open up your heart and let me come inside.
Please let the loving start to climb.
I know you may may wonder why I've come to hold you tight.
I don't want you to cry tonight.
I will take you in my arms and sing your favorite song.
As i tell you of your charms all night long.
You've been hurt over again, with all my love I say I am
Holding out my hand.

[Chorus]
You won't be lonely anymore.
You won't be lonely anymore.

[Verse 2]
For so long you've been in rain, but now you're warm and dry.
You've been through all the pain and now it's blue skies.
You'll be happy and secure as long as you are mine and as
Long as I am yours.

[Repeat Chorus]

Won't you open up your hear and let me come inside.
Please let the loving start to climb.
I will take you in my arms and I will hold you tight.
You won't be lonely tonight.

Reach Out

[Verse 1]
I was looking for the answer all the time
Always looking, never finding
I was empty inside
Falling into darkness
Needing the light to see
Reaching out for shelter
Then He set me free

[Chorus]
I reached out, You reach out, He'll reach out today
I reached out, You reach out, He'll reach out today

[Verse 2]
If you're looking for the answer, now this is the time
To stop looking and start finding that feeling inside
You don't need the darkness
When there's a light to see
He'll provide the shelter
And He'll set you free

[Repeat Chorus]

I'll reach out, I'll reach out
I'll reach out, I'll reach out today
Oh, reach out today
Oh, reach out today
Oh, reach out today
Oh, reach out today
I'll reach out today

I write, or have written fiction. Never really finished any of it. I was writing a short story about a group of elvis fanatics. You know how some of them have the tendency to elevate him to him to the divine? Well, I was thinking about all those velvet Elvis paintings I'd seen in comparision to religious art depictions. I wrote some passage that talked about a velvet elvis painting on the wall with him in tribunal with god and jesus. At the time I was thinking about the trinity, father, son, and holy spirit, and how some people are so fanatical over their favorite singer that they might push it that far. This guy I was seeing at the time took one look at it, and said I should ask for forgiveness quickly that it came close to blasephemy. I arqued with him and said no it wasnt, and refused to change it. It only months later than I looked again, and started worrying . If I did it, I am truly sorry. I've been sick over it ever since.

Free

[Verse 1]
Free to turn away - say goodbye
Free to walk away - and deny
The gift waiting for you
Whispers a still small voice
It's your choice - you're..

[Chorus]
Free - Free to do what you want to
Choose your own destiny
Free to do what you want to
Free to open up - and believe
Free to simply ask - and receive
There's no better time than now
You've got the right to choose
You can't lose - you're...

[Repeat Chorus]

I used to worry about that alot because its not really clear what the unpardonable sin is. I spoke to my uncle who is a pastor about and he told me that some one who had actually committed that sin would have to have such a hard heart toward God that they wouldn't even be worried about it. In other words if you still have a conscience regarding God and sin then you haven't committed the unpardonable sin. I hope that makes sense and that it helps.

I may be jumping to conclusions here, if I so I am very sorry I don't mean to, but it doesn't sound to me like you meant to blaspheme anyone when you wrote that passage. You yourself acknowledged that it was fiction.
God knows that.
If you really feel badly about it, tell him and ask His forgiveness. God knows your heart.

I don't claim to be an expert but I do know that if anyone told you there was a sin that God would refuse to forgive if you asked Him, they're wrong.
All God wants us to do is ask His forgiveness (which He will grant or He wouldn't have said that He would) and turn from the sin.
That's one thing I love about God, He doesn't hold grudges. :)

I don't know but I know who I can ask. might take a while......

i personally believe, with absolutely no grounds, that it would be so, so hard not be granted forgiveness. He is faithful and just. Our misunderstanding may lie in the misinterpretation of the premise of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. again, He is the only to judge so we really can't judge ourselves either, damning ourselves to hell on a phrase that we may not fully understand. is that anywhere clear? clear as mud?

Therefore Jesus answered them, "Don't murmur among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day. It is written in the prophets, 'They will all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father. Most assuredly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."

That, my friends, is the Word of the Lord!

More Than A Man

[Verse 1]
Long ago, there was a man who came
Came and died for you
You, you say you don't want to know
But I've got to tell you the truth

[Chorus]
God, I will follow you because you died for me
Gave to me your life to set me free
Anyone who asks shall receive
Jesus in your heart
It's time for you to start
Giving God all the glory

[Verse 2]
More than a man, God almighty
He created you
He's the One, the One who rules the land
He is the One I choose

[Repeat Chorus]

[Bridge]
All of the glory today
No matter what some people say
All of your faith
And your life will start to change

[Repeat Chorus Twice]

More thoughts on forgiveness and "the unpardonable sin".

The Bible says that the punishment for sin is death (Romans 6:23).
It doesn't say most sin, it doesn't say some sin, it says sin. As in all sin.

But God fixed that issue by sending Jesus to die for our sins.

If there was a sin that wasn't covered by Jesus' death, God would not have made Him die in the first place. It would've meant nothing. But the Bible says that ALL sin is washed away by the blood of Jesus.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.

The Way

[Verse 1]
I want to sing some other way
Always the same, never a change
What can I do to make me feel right
Change all my ways, give up my life

[Chorus]
Oh - What did you say?
Oh - Christ is the way
Rockin' for the One who is the Rock

[Verse 2]
I feel His strength come into me
Reading His word helps me to see
I feel so new, I want to sing
Feeling His joy in everything

[Chorus]
Oh - What can I say?
Oh - Christ is the way
Rockin' for the One who is the Rock
Rockin' for the One who is the Rock

The Apostle Paul speaks in Galatians 1:13 about how he persecuted the Church of God and even tried to destroy it. And yet, God took even someone so opposed to Christianity the he would try to destroy it, forgave him, and inspired him to write a significant number of books of the New Testament.

God forgives! All we have to do is confess our sin in Jesus' name. Many times, the Bible commands us not to worry. My prayer is that you will stop worrying about this, confess your sin and move on. I promise you that God will.

Always There For You

[Verse 1]
Love can be so cold
And loneliness gets old
More than words or broken promises
I want to show you what true love is

[Chorus]
I'm always there for you
I'll always stand by you
When the world has closed the door
And you can't go on anymore
I'm always there for you

[Verse 2]
You've been hurt before
And you don't want anymore
There's a better way for you
Believe in me, I'll see you through

[Repeat Chorus]

That worry has always popped up for me. Before I was saved, I was VERY anti-religion and may have said some things in my early youth that are downright unpardonable by any measure... and I've always been too afraid to ask more knowledgeable people about it.. it haunts me.
We all make mistakes and no one is perfect..the teachings from Christ as well as all other religious teachers and philosophers is that you must ask for forgiveness for past transgressions...what it means is that you have to learn to forgive yourself ...learn from mistakes..don't repeat them and move forward from them and leave them behind...strive to become better...continue to learn and to grow....and to also forgive others...give second chances...but if they continue wrongs to you leave them behind, but forgive so you don't harbor hate in your heart.. and to try to right what wrongs we have done...and to learn to love unconditionally....yourself as well as others...God is not out there somewhere...the spirit is within you... if you let it be...give it to yourself, believe in yourself and then you can give by showing the spirit within to those around you....that is what payment for sins is..you pay by giving back. That is what is meant by trying to become christlike....forgiveness of self, loving oneself, letting go of hate, to learn to grow with the love from within...then project it out and give it to others.
Thats my take on it anyway. :)

I've honestly never listened to them... ordering myself To Hell with the Devil as we speak.

Awesome! That's my favorite Stryper album. Hope you like it. You've heard them before right?

[Verse 1]
Long ago, there was a man who came
Came and died for you
You, you say you don't want to know
But I've got to tell you the truth

[Chorus]
God, I will follow you because you died for me
Gave to me your life to set me free
Anyone who asks shall receive
Jesus in your heart
It's time for you to start
Giving God all the glory

[Verse 2]
More than a man, God almighty
He created you
He's the One, the One who rules the land
He is the One I choose

[Repeat Chorus]

[Bridge]
All of the glory today
No matter what some people say
All of your faith
And your life will start to change

[Repeat Chorus Twice]

Piecesofeight, I like your taste! 8)

This is one of my favorite all time songs.
This is my favorite Christian/Christian rock song.

First time I heard it I was blown away how Michael wrote these perfect words to the sort of music that would draw me in.

Michael Sweet told me that out of all the songs he wrote..he felt this one said it all.

I am not able to watch youtube vids very well..so I am just going through and trying to pick out one's from people I know or one's that got descent reviews.

While the words are powerful..I wanted those who had never heard what the words sounded like to the music and singing.
