I did read this. While Valerie does give some insight on her marriage to EVH, by no means is it a tell-all account. I came away with the feeling that their marriage was doomed from day one - JMO. While she wrote about Ed's alcohol and substance abuse, infidelities, temper tantrums, etc., she openly admitted to battling her own demons as well. There were really no shockers - the fact that Valerie's father broke Ed's jaw or cheek was the only surprise. That they were able to rise above the bitterness that all too often accompanies separation and divorce is testament to the love they have for their son. I give them huge props for that.
If you have a chance to read this book, by all means do it.
