OT: MR Fans Interview BILLY SHEEHAN!

Thought we'd share this impromptu interview we conducted with Billy Sheehan of David Lee Roth Band / Mr. Big fame! Billy happened to be cruising nearby when we were chatting on Yahoo, and I was lucky to snag him for a few quick comments. Billy's always been a top notch guy who really appreciates his fans. Hope you enjoy his comments on the possibility of a Mr. Big reunion, as well as the skinny on his upcoming solo CD!

RIP ROKKEN: Hey, Billy!

BILLY SHEEHAN: Hey!

RIP ROKKEN: I'm chatting with a bunch of Mr. Big fans who were just talking about wanting a reunion.

BILLY SHEEHAN: Me too!

RIP ROKKEN: Sweet! They've converted me into a Mr. Big fan!

BILLY SHEEHAN: Ha! I hope we can someday. I think the time is right, or at least getting close. Hope so.

RIP ROKKEN: I relayed that to the girls, and they are inviting you to say hello in our chat, unless you're busy. We don't want to keep ya!

BILLY SHEEHAN: Sure! How do I do it?

RIP ROKKEN: You don't mind? They'd love it....

BILLY SHEEHAN: My pleasure -- Sure! No prob -- I have nothing to hide! Ha! Tell them.... I love them ALL, and I'm so honored & thankful to have people like them into something I did---very much appreciated!

TXFIREFIGHTER: Wow... that's cool!

MELISSA: Awesome!

BILLY SHEEHAN: AND! I have a new solo CD coming out with some VERY special guests!"

STEVEPERRYHAIR: Hmm, special? Wonder who!

BILLY SHEEHAN: Shall I say who? Ok, here goes.... Special awesome guitar solo by PAUL GILBERT!

STEVEPERRYHAIR: Yes!!

MELISSA: I called it!

STEVEPERRYHAIR: Does Mel get a prize?

BILLY SHEEHAN: Extra special classical piano/bass duo w/ TONY MACALPINE!

RIP ROKKEN: Awesome! He's incredible…

BILLY SHEEHAN: The INCREDIBLE voice of the one and only DOUG PINNICK from Kings X on one very special song… And I saved the best for last… BILLY GIBBONS layed down a spectacular solo on a song!"

TXFIREFIGHTER: Wow!

RIP ROKKEN: Billy Gibbons? Serious business?

BILLY SHEEHAN: Billy CAME TO MY HOUSE!!! YEE HAW! We had a blast---he's so awesome.

RIP ROKKEN: I can't wait for this disc! Does Mel get a prize for guessing Paul Gilbert? Haha…

BILLY SHEEHAN: She does! A NEW CAR!!!"

TXFIREFIGHTER: Mel wins a new car!!!!!!!!!!

MELISSA: Cool! LOL! I like red cars.

BILLY SHEEHAN: Just kidding -- DOH!

MELISSA: LOL -- That is awesome Paul Gilbert will be back!

RIP ROKKEN: You guys are cracking me up. Hey, Billy, thanks so much! Count us first in line to buy your CD when it comes out, and we'll spread the word. Would you mind if I share some of this over on the MelodicRock message board?

BILLY SHEEHAN: VERY kind of you Bro. Sure! It's a great site.

RIP ROKKEN: When your CD's release date gets closer, we need to hook you up with Andrew for an interview.

BILLY SHEEHAN: Sure! Love to! It won't be for several months, but it will happen.

COOL. Thanks for the impromptu interview dude, looks like a record I'll have to nab for sure... I LOVE ZZ Top and King's X, and of course being a bassist myself, I admire Sheehan's mad ability.... Paul Gilbert? Tony freakin' MacAlpine? Dang.

Billy is and always has been a Class Act. Ive been a huge fan since his pre mr big days.

I Agree with him that its time for an Original Line-up Reunion of MR. Big....Rocklahoma next year and a tour to follow. New CD/DVD

You know it! I saw your recommendation, and once Andrew put his stamp of approval on it, I had to check it out. I'm going to start buying CD's soon. Of course, I've been a fan of Billy's since I saw him in the DLR Band when Eat em And Smile was released -- one of the best players out there, regardless of the project. He and Marcel Jacob remind me of each other quite a bit when they start going off on the bass.

I'll be watching out for this disc!

billy sheehan is so good that i get tired of him

.. he actually picks and taps the guitar solos out on his bass in conjunction with the guitar player.. with STEVE VAI!! its pretty scary..

then , on Yankee Rose he just plays a simple rock groove that keeps the song right on beat..

Last I saw Billy(G3-03), he was jamming with Stevie Vai and Tony McAlpine,,, AMAZING,,,,
Billy and Stu Hamm are right up there on my top 5 bass player with Marcel Jacob on top!

The last time I'd chatted with Billy, he was actually on the G3 tour overseas, and it was cool hearing about it from him! This was probably 2 years ago.
