Does Best Buy count as a record store? I am in there all the time.

My local Record & Tape Traders closed down recently, which is a major bummer. Do you have those near you Ang?

Like a used shop? Yeah, we have a couple. My favorite is a place called The Last Stop CD Shop. I can browse around in there for hours. Not only do they have cds and dvds they have albums, books, video games...everything.

I'll support this for surely.
There aren't many true "record stores" left standing.
I sure sunk some cash into their cause back in the eighties and early nineties.
Loved Sir Paul's recent plug at the LA one.
Thanks for linking this AngieKay.

Angie, this is so cool. I used to love spending hours just browsing in local record stores. Sometimes I would buy an album based on the cover alone and find a gem inside the sleeve. I do the same with bookstores, but I'm not sure there are any "independents" around here. I am going to look for one. Rasputin's is close by and they have everything ever made in one HUGE location, but not sure if that is considered "independent".

In the old days I'd buy my "rarities" from Bleeker Bob on Bleeker Street in New York. Via snail mail! : D

The record store, arcade and Spencer's used to be the best mall hangouts when I was in school.

Awesome!
Any excuse to go to Streetlight Records is fine by me!

Nope...Best Buy counts at the ones who have helped to put the RECORD STORES out of business!

In honor of Record Store Day I went to Streetlight (where they were having some sweet sales!) and picked out way too many CDs and spent waaaaay too much money. :P
It was fun but I certainly won't be doing that again anytime soon. 8)
