Heart and Fergie

Postby fredinator » Thu Apr 10, 2008 10:25 pm

The Noticeboard has this great YouTube vid up already (this was done last night)--I can't wait to see Heart!! Yahoo!! Anyway, Fergie does a great job on this song too I think! This bill with Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey is going to ROCK! I hope it is 5 hours long (Neal, please take note that several of your diehard fans are going to be at the Verizon Ampitheatre in Selma, 7/24)...

Enjoy--LOVE Barracuda!!

That was great! Thanks for sharing. I agree that Fergie did a great job. It was nice to hear her actually belt out a song. I am really looking forward to seeing Heart. I saw them about 20 years ago, and the show stands out as a great one in my memory.

One of my least favorite songs by them, but I can still say that the performance was good.

You know, I saw that. Fergie was definitely good and definetly... well, you know ... She did a great job and looked amazing.

However, I took it as kind of a slap in the face to Ann.
Director: "Ann baby, we know you're over weight and so we want to bring in Fergie to wear the tightest fitting thing we can find and to do a tumbling act next to you. She'll only shake her butt a few times, but it will keep the guys interested. What do ya say babe? Nancy, talk her into it will ya?".

Also, Ann and Nancy are freakin icons. You don't upstage an icon. I don't care who you are. They also don't need to be sharing the stage with anyone. Gretchen Wilson also kicked ass on the Heart stuff, but after it (just like today) all anybody talked about was how well Gretchen did the tunes and how well Fergie did the tune.

Put the spotlight back on Heart.

And please, quit dragging out Barracuda and Crazy on You. Heart's got a billion great tunes...

That is exactly what I was thinking when she came out in that skin tight outfit. Poor Ann. It was a great performance by all, though.

Ann Wilson has nothing to worry about with Fergie singing next to her. She has the best female voice in rock history (IMO). She just fucking kicks ass. Having Fergie on stage with Heart will introduce some kids to the band, which is great. But, Annie don't need no help. Or gymnastics.

Couldn't agree more. I thought it was in poor taste. Fergie also made choices to draw attention to herself. Gymnastics? What was with all the crawling on the floor? This wasn't her solo performance. She introduced Heart then went out of her way to upstage them. Bad form Fergie, bad form.

Interesting comments here.
I happened to see that last night and thought it was awesome.
To everyone crying foul - you realize that this is all choreographed & reheased, no?
And I really doubt that the Wilson's didn't get signoff on everything.

Btw, Terri Hatcher was hot too! :P

It made no sense. Although Fergie's voice surprised me, Ann is standing up there singing with class, and her VOICE ALONE is enough to hold the spotlight and then we get the Mary Lou Retton imitation and crawling on the floor from Fergie. It cheapened the performance, and Heart looked great next to those antics.

Don't female rockers today realize you don't need that? I don't see male rockers crawling on the floor. Can you imagine Arnel, or JSS doing that? :D

It's all about the music and if the newer female stars don't get that, they won't BE stars thirty years later like Ann and Nancy.

She's got a good voice, but she's kind of fugly- looks old trying to look young.
Ann looked poised and beautiful even though
she's go a few lb's who cares!

it really was in bad taste to have the tumbling deal...
guess it kept the audience's attention but maybe if they'd have shared a kiss like Madonna
and Britney it would have been better? thoughts...

Not to mention that Ann was born in 1950, making her 57 and Fergie was born in 1975 (the year I graduated from high school  ) and is only 33!

There was a spoof several years ago. Instead of "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You", it was "All I Wanna Do Is Lose a Pound or Two".
Despite the insults, it was pretty darned funny.

Ouch - that explains it. Bad stuff......<shiver>, seen too many patients either on it or burned from meth labs.

absolutely- Ann is ten times hotter than Fergie - voice , creativity , real rock in roll attitude.

For a one night stand Id choose Fergie. I had to be holed up with one of them for more than a week, it would damn sure be Ann. (you'd probably be more likely to get away with ordering a few Dominoes pizza's at night a well

Good God, but you're a bunch of nitpicky whiners.

All three women looked like they were enjoying the gig,
and Fergie did a creditable job. If the Wilsons were okay with
having Fergie on board, that's their call, and they called it right.

...and yeah, the Wilson girls look terrific.
I can't say I've taken care of myself half as well.
