Semi OT: The first "CD" you bought.

Geez, when CD's came out, we were paying 15 - 18 bucks apiece for them. Do you remember the first one you bought?

Here's mine, 'cept it was in the "long box".

Chicago 17, Heart (the self titled album) and Tooth andNail. It was either 1986 or 87 and the discs cost between 19 and 22 dollars at the base exchange.

First CDs I ever owned I won from a radio call-in contest, and when I got there, I got to pick two. I chose Gilby Clarke's solo disc (the one with "Tijuana Jail"), and Dream Theater Awake. Never bought another cassette again...

I loved that disc! We recently mentioned ASIA Anthology here, and Downes/Payne recorded a version of GTR's "The Hunter"... I never knew quite why, and I certainly never preferred it to the original.

Owner's right, I guess... because Geoff Downes did write "The Hunter"... and was the producer of GTR.

My first CD was Foreigner's Inside Information. "Say You Will" was all over the radio at the time and I broke down and bought a CD/stereo system and the CD within a week of each other. I still go back an listen to the CD and have the flashbacks to sitting my first apartment with the speakers turned up to 11.

i don't remember the exact one but I was so on board with the technology. i had HAD IT with vinyl scratched up mess, cassette tape tangles and the dreaded 8 track machine breakdown.

I was waiting in line at 4am the day that they 1st became available, figuratively speaking.

but I'll bet a dime and a donut that it was FRONTIERS.

now I have HUNDREDS.

I hired a decorator to help with the den design, new couch, etc. she sez, "the first thing we'll need to do is donate or sell or throw away all these cds."

I sez, "You're fired".

A friend of mine went to high school with them (Philadelphia Creative & Performing Arts). She used to hear them singing in the hallway.

I love their music man, any Boyz II Men song puts me on the beach in Nags Head, NC during the summers of 92-96. Love them still. :D

Can't remember, but......I think my first cd I bought was either Nazareth's Greatest Hits (always loved that song Holy Roller) or Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet.

First LP was either Bay City Rollers or one of the Cassidy's or it could've even been Leif Garrett's.....had his LP too.
