See the thing is open minded people are able to appreciate good musicianship without the politics. The new Journey is obviously delivering the goods. Arnel can definitely sing, theres no argument about that. People that are open to the new Journey are happy people and are having alot of fun at the shows. Its just too bad that there are some people that are soo closed minded that theyre not able to enjoy the band that they once loved anymore. So have fun listening to your old records and reminisce about what once was. I know Im looking forward to seeing the new Journey in concert. And whats wrong with Neil for wanting Journey to sound like Journey?

I think I get it ? Is Neil actully saying look here Perry is not that unique or special I can get a random off youtube to do sing like Perry. WTF very clever way to take the man down, its a sad day.

Good Luck Arnel !

Im sure he thinks Perry is special, but just like the rest of us, he's moved on.

I was referring to Arnel
.

And Im replying to that guy up there, majik

I've been off all day. Pay me no mind. :?

I almost never drink any alcohol on a work night, but today should have been an exception.

ALMOST. Almost is an important word. It gets us out of things. :D You said almost, so you can go have a beer.

Negative Ghost Rider. I have to be up at 4. I'm headed to bed. Nighty night.

It seems kind of hypocritical to expect folks to 'move on' with the new lineup, only to turn around and expect folks to 'appreciate the past' and 'honor the legacy' and swallow the re-recordings with a new singer, when it's the previous band members (along with NS, JC, and RV) who created that legacy. I don't get it. :?

I'd be very happy with a Storm reunion. ;)

Anyone know what these things pay?

I think Def Leppard gets about $350,000 per state fair. I don't know what kind of a draw Rolie is, so its hard to say

Probably closer to $100k. State Fairs rarely sell concert tickets for more than $40 each, and the maximum capacity is probably 10,000 for the majority of them. The average draw for a band like Def Leppard at a State Fair is probably around 6,000. That would only amount to $240k for the entire take - nowhere near enough to pay one band $350k.

Dang... I never thought about these numbers before. Using your numbers, our largest local venue is right at 8,200 seats and tickets range from $36.50 to about $100. There are 800 seats on the floor, the rest are upper level. ZZ Top came through last year and sold out. Running your numbers... I bout fell outta my chair. Guess ZZ is one band that is in it for the music, NOT the money.

(ps... they're coming back on their own next month... probably sell that one out too    )
