Johnny Marz was 100% pure class. A true neighborhood guy and everyone's best friend.

God bless you, John.

Amen to that. Johnny Marz was a real guy. True class, and his death is a complete tragedy.

Wagner is a fucking moron. The bullpen at Citizens Bank Park is so close to the fans, he is lucky all they did was talk about his family. He is a yellow, spineless, bitch. I'll bet that his NY teamates feel the same way his fellow Phils did.

He will choke again this September. Bank on it.

I agree with Uno_up. Sounds like a poor excuse for rude fan behavior to me.

The behavior there is no different than any of the other Northeast cities. Just more publicized.

Still sounds like another excuse to me.

I hope Wagner fans the side to beat the Phils in the NLCS this year.

Of course, then I hope he loses to the Red Sox in the World Series.

Enjoy Lidge and his propensity to meltdown with gopheritis. Decent K/9 of 11.8, but a whopping 8 blown saves in just 27 opps last year?. Terrible. Now this FLYBALL (43% of his outs) pitcher is in a hitter's park that inflates lefthanded batting power by 30% & righthanded batting power by 36% AND now add in a high BB/9 of 4.0 and you've got problems. Good luck with him...but don't be surprised when the fans are wishing they had Wagner back.

In a May 7, 2006 interview, Wagner stated that he was confronted by all of his former Philadelphia Phillies teammates in September 2005 after Wagner criticized their performance in the media by repeatedly saying that the Phillies had "no chance" of making the playoffs, with Phillies left fielder Pat Burrell reportedly calling Wagner a "rat." The confrontation reportedly was one of several factors that drove Wagner from Philadelphia in the 2005-06 offseason.

Billy Wagner is a clubhouse cancer.

Yeah, I just came across an on-line article about a bunch of Red Sox fans in Boston who beat the hell out of a Yankees fan just because he was wearing a Yankees hat. The Yankees fan had to be treated at the hospital for his injuries.

Also, I saw another on-line article that was by some guy who says he wore a Yankees hat at a Red Sox game in Boston, and he also wore a Red Sox hat at a Yankees game in New York, and he said he was treated way worse by Red Sox fans in Boston.

How shocking...Lake Erie Boy shows up criticizing Boston and their fans! Listen...I'm not EVER going to defend any fucking moron beating the shit out of someone because of a hat they're wearing, or the team they cheer for. That said, just because one moron acts like a jackoff doesn't mean the entire city behaves in the same fashion! I can assure you that there isn't a city in America (including the mistake by the lake) that doesn't have these jackasses living among the real fans!

Seth Myers (Saturday Night Live) was just on Letterman two weeks ago talking about the endless abuse he gets from New Yorkers when he's wearing his Red Sox hat (he's from the Boston area). He said that people are beyond rude to him and say things to him that can't be repeated on tv! I understand that these things happen EVERYWHERE, but let's not make it sound like it's just happening in Boston and Philadelphia, becuase I can assure you that it isn't!

I don't know where this "Mistake On The Lake" is that you keep talking about??? It must not be anywhere near Cleveland Ohio, The Best Location In The Nation.

By the way, recently I went on the web looking at what people have to say about the city of Boston. I found TONS of posts by people talking about what a shithole they consider Boston to be. I saw about a hundred different posts where people were saying that Boston is the most arrogant city in America, that the people of Boston are unfriendly, obnoxious and self-centered. Several of the posts talked about how Fenway Park reeks of piss.

Boston leads the United States in road-rage incidents year in and year out.

There were even posts from Bostonians who agreed that Boston is a very unfriendly and arrogant city in general.

On the other hand, even national broadcasters talk about how Cleveland is one of the friendliest cities in America. And Cleveland is always one of the top contributors in the entire country for donating to charities. There are many, many times that Clevelanders have donated the most money of all to a charity even though we don't have nearly the population of cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston etc, etc.

I'm not saying that every single Bostonian is arrogant or obnoxious, but on the whole Boston is nowhere nearly as friendly and charitable as Cleveland is. And good people is what makes a city great.

The Toronto Star reports: "They know how to hold a grudge in the City of Brotherly Love. Each game here begins the same way – anthems and ballgirls, followed by the ceremonial booing of former Phillies now enlisted in enemy ranks. These fans are gleeful in their mean-spiritedness. When one of the ballgirls they'd cheered lustily in the pre-game missed a foul ball down the first-base line in the second, they booed her. Scott Rolen started getting his during the lineup introductions. The town's sporting prodigal son gets it every time he touches the ball. Last night, backup catcher Rod Barajas, who spurned Toronto for Philadelphia prior to the 2007 season, got his too. "People in Jersey could hear them," Barajas said of the noise. "You hear them. It's a little different when you're a visiting player." Last year, Barajas was being steadily booed while in a Philadelphia uniform, the result of a poor start and the quick temper of these fans. "It's a little disappointing when you go up there and you've got 38,000 people rooting against you," Barajas said of the treatment he received as a Phillie. "It doesn't help your self-esteem." So did it hurt last night? "As a visiting player, it doesn't hurt you. It just rolls off your shoulders." Off your shoulders, through your arms and apparently into your bat. Barajas answered his Philadelphia critics in thrilling fashion last night, belting two home runs, including a second-inning grand slam. Barajas' career-best five RBIs powered the Jays over the Phillies 6-3. "That's what separates the best from the others, when you can go into somebody else's home where you know you're not respected and still play your game,"

Rod Barajas kept wimping out on plays at the plate, refusing to block it.
Cost them something like 2 games in 3 days last year.

That's not what's reported.

Moose saw it.

Rod Barajas is a bitch. Any booes he received (and I was one of them) were well deserved. He should just shut his piehole and play. I wonder if he learned how to block the plate yet. Fag.

Whatever money he made in Philadelphia was too much.
