"He basically planted himself on one spot of the stage all night and didn’t seem bothered about working the crowd."

This is called taking it seriously and not wanting to fuck up....again. Good for Eddie.

better for him to stick to one spot than us fans not be treated to a live show at all,if thats what he has to do then so be it.lets just be glad that van halen is reunited and we all need to understand that he was at his peak something like 25 years ago which is how long it took for the band to reunite.

i strongly disagree with this review, sounds like a van hagar fan. yes eddie didnt move much, and i kind of wish dave would have done a little more of the stories, the mix was a little muffled, which is nornal for this tour, not sure why.
but how can you argue with 2 hours + , and 20/25 songs. if your a VH fan nothing they did was obscure, just pure party rock from the masters, unchained, dance the night away, little guitars, about the only thing they didnt do was feel you love.
daves voice was strong than its been in years, and the set list is perfect.
whos up for the full reunion next year.

Or called "being bored and just doing your job."

Eddie never used to be like that onstage...at his age, if you're willing to go onstage shirtless every night, you should still be expected to have a bit of energy onstage and engage the crowd (and the rest of your band, presumably).

There's a lot of musicians who just stand onstage and do their thing, but the members of Van Halen have never been among them.
