This was asked of him back around Arrival when the band hit BalkTalk for a weekend.
He pointedly said, "no way. that sound is too dated."

Wonder what Rolie thinks about that.

Is it my imagination or are the words Jon and organ required to be posted together? :)

Rolie's in the Hall of Fame, he doesn't think much of Jon's organ.

Friga never played a B3 that was Greg Rolie, and he is the best on the B3 , Friga problalblly cant even figure how to make the Leslie speaker go fast and slow. The only organ he can play is his little 4 inch carrot

Leslie?? Crap! I thought that was a table for my drink!

Um, why can Rollie not do a Guest spot on the album? A little late now, but the next one.

Dude, that would be fantastic. I wish they would make that happen.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I remember playing a ski lodge with my old keyboard player. Monster organ player (yeah, yeah, pipe down) and the lodge didn't have an elevator and we were on the second floor. We had to hork this thing up the steepest, narrowest staircase in the cold. Holy crap! Can't beat the sound of the Hammond with a Leslie.

I did it to many times {in my 20s and 30s} I used a Farfisa through my Leslie {you could fart in a Leslie and it would sound good} Still luggin that speaker up the steps would kill my ass, although I still miss it at times. I have a Yamaha Motif, with some nice Hammond sounds, and I use a pedal for the on and off switch to simulate the fast and slow control for the Leslie .It sounds really good

Great to see another keyboardist on here! What version of Motif do you play? I play a Motif ES6, and a Motif XS8! I also play a Korg Karma (strictly for lead guitars and some pads). Never messed with a leslie, although I'm sure I will someday!

I bought cause i liked the piano and organ sounds. I dont even use all the other stuff it can do

Man, you gotta PM me about the Motif's if you're interested in the differences! I absolutely LOVE what Yamaha has poured into my new baby. I bought one of the 3rd or 4th Motif XS8's sold on the entire East coast, and absolutey LOVE it! I've yet to hear a better board.
