I may sqawk on occasion but the other part doesn't apply.
I do remember the uproar that caused last time I saw it posted though, and I don't get it.
It's just some dude with a blog and an opinion.

My question is WHO finds this shit?
Is there a task force appointed to googling "Steve Perry" every day looking for any mention of him?

(now insert "googling Steve Perry every day" joke here and move on...)

If Journey picks up new fans from the re-records they are going to hear the tunes, watch the vid and not even care who Steve Perry is. It sounds like Journey again and it is GOOD. Without Perry.

I never liked Augeri. It never sounded like Journey to me because his voice was too weak. Insert strong tenor and there you go. Perry was important to the creation of the old songs that we all love but maybe not so important in the overall formula that makes the Journey sound...

I would love this new cd to chart big time. If Whitesnake can hit #70 U.S I am sure the new cd with Azoff at the helm is going to make a big impression. New fans might really say Steve who ?

The re-records gives the songs a more modern sound. Heavier guitars and modern production might rechart the old stuff as if it were new again... THis might have been their plan all along. Maybe they are trying to erase Perry.

thats why iam not sold yet on the new line up, something just isnt right with it... they want the legacy sound and to erase both the last 10 years and the past 30 years... just not right... but to erase Perry... its like a hellish divorce that wont go away.

Yeah he will, so until then he needs to stop bullshitting his fans with false hope. I dont ever expect to see a new CD from him, if I'm proved wrong then I hope so but I just dont see it coming.
