The Metrodome- Hands down.

Climate controled, no mosquitoes, GREAT GREAT lower level box seats, and at one time the GREATEST home(dome) field advantage that ANY team ever had in a professional sport.

Wait until their new stadium is built and one day they reach the playoffs or World Series and get either snowed or sleeted out for 2 or 3 days in a row. What a GREAT time it will be to watch baseball in 20 degree weather. How about being from Iowa or the Dakotas and driving in( 4 dollars a gallon) for a rain out.

The weather in MN is a TOTAL crapshoot. To not have a dome in this day in age is moranic.

The Metrodome is AWESOME!!!!!

Absotittyfuckinglutely.

I heart Cubby Bear.

I see you are adapting appropriately.

Don't let anyone talk you into going to US Cellular Field (if it still called that... ) unless the tix are free.
I hate Sox games. That place is a shithole. If you sit high enough up, you just might get a seat with a bullet hole in it.

You can't pay me to go to the south side... much less to a Sox game!!! In fact... anything lower than the loop I will never wander to.
My ex always told me it was like a demilitarized zone and anthropologists came from around the globe just to study the south side. I never believed him until I started watching the news up here.

That's, unfortunately, a very accurate description.

I have never ever paid for Sox tix. Every time I've gone, the tix have been free and I don't do the driving.
I also refuse to sit in the upper deck for the aforementioned reason.

Its a crummy environment and crummy experience all the way around. You walk down 35th St. toward the park and (if you live through it) all you see is street vendors selling novelty shirts with stupid messages about how much the Cubs and Wrigley Field suck.

I have NEVER seen anything like that outside Wrigley.

That stupid championship in '05 did not help matters either.

Man, I hope that you're kidding. There are a lot of GREAT stadiums to watch a baseball game, througout our country, but the Metrodome isn't one of them! That freakin' place actually has it's own rules for when the ball hits speakers or light towers. As someone who has visited the Metrodome, I can safely say that it's easily the worst stadium in all of baseball (Tampa rivals it). Calling the Metrodome a dump would be an understatement! You won't find a baseball writer in America to find one good thing about the Metrodome (aside from the climate control aspect, early and late in the season)!

The Metrodome WINS hands down!!!! I am not kidding I absolutely love the place!!! Was at game 6 when Kirby went yard. Most electric feeling EVER!!

Dont talk about writers or critics.

No mention of being disgruntled that Perry was their Buddha and they rubbed his belly for good luck that year?? No? Ok...
Yeah Joseph was always like "Seriously, pookie, don't ever EVER go anywhere down there. There's no reason to even venture to that side of town unless you have a death wish." I knew it was rough, but damn the news is like "Yeah there was a drive-by at a McDonald's... blah blah blah south side big surprise, now for the weather."

Wrigleyville is so awesome though, the atmosphere is just great. I went to Cubby Bear last week and met up with aforementioned Joey-pants for beer after the game and it was a blast. All Cubs fans are like family. It's great. And my friend's boyfriend was asking me last weekend who my team was, and I said "Atlanta"... duh, I'm southern, and he said, "No. Again. Who is your team." So I showed him my house key, a Cub key, because I figure while I'm up here I'll support the Cubs too... I mean, same colors as the Braves and all. But Atlanta still has my heart. :D

Perry has a love affair going on with black shirts these days, so I will write off his Sox fubar as a casualty of "Ooh, black? I like black. Sure I'll come chill wif yous." I think it is almost an obligation that Perry be there for the Cubs. It's written in the Bible somewhere. Revelations... cause that's about when the Cubs will win it all.

Theriot is hot. As in, oh. my. GAWD. You never know... I have a good feeling about them this year. What that equates to, well we'll see in October... erm... but probably by September.

Or maybe Perry's life force is so strong that it absorbs all color nearby and reflects only black and denim.
That could be pink polka-dots. All we see is black. And denim. Ever.

Tough to argue that!

Dan Patrick had this conversation ths morning.

Oriole Park got high marks because of the setting and their knowledgeable fans.
Safeco in Seattle got best park by far
At +T in Frisco scored high

but the two parks you must see before you die are, you guessed it, Fenway and Yankee Stadium.

Tampa and Florida were the worst.

Dodger Stadium scored high and has never been renovated.

stadiums i have been too, love San Diegos new park, coors field rocks, FENWAY is AMAZING--- Clevelands new park is pretty good,
Wrigley is cool...but not when its football weather adnjd 40 degrees out... Milwaukees old stadium was crap... The metrodome IS CRAP..
the old MET stadium in the 70s in Bloomington MN was a cool place to watch a game... and when the Twins open their park in 2010 that will be amazing...
FENWAY is A MUST for true fans of baseball--The green monster is just a great site in real life. I wish i could have gotten to yankee stadium... and of course
you cant forget a place called FIELD OF DREAMS, in Dyersville, IA

Dont forget the little parks from the minor leagues. If you love the sport, visit em if you can. Minor legue parks- Fifth Third Field (toledo mudhens) Principal park (iowa cubs). Keyspan Park on Coney Island (Brooklyn cyclones) Midway Field (St Paul Saints) are all parks Ive visited and had a great time. Atmosphere can be as great as the atmosphere of a major league park.

In terms of the big show- As I might have mentioned before, the most compelling sports experience Ive ever had was visting Fenway park may 1986 for the first time. Absolutely religous experience. Id say Fenway for me if your talking major league ball parks . Its just so real, I still get the lump every time I visit the place...

Speaking of Minnesota, I do have high hopes for that new outdoor park there, Minnesota weather notwithstanding , thats a step forward

Not putting a dome(retractable or otherwise) on a stadium in Minnesota is PURE insanity.

Once the novelty of the new park wears off, and if the Twins are not winning they will max out at 10,000 a night in the months of April, May Sept & October. The fans and there are literally thousands in Iowa & The Dokotas will no longer make the trip or make less of them because of the weather. Factor in 4 to 5 dollar a gallon gas prices & the gazillion nats & mosquitoes that are located in the land of 10,000 Lakes and Bud will get his wish when the Twins are gone by 2025. We are not talking about The St. Paul Saints & Independent League Baseball.

If they are really good how about some outdoor World Series Baseball in November.

Insane!!

Spend the money now and roof the place or they will be gone in less than 20 years.

Older-school stadium by today's standards, but I love seeing games at Dodger Stadium. Like Fenway, Wrigley, and Yankee Stadium, there's just something about that place. A $500 million dollar renovation project will begin after the season to update the stadium, and they have made some modifications over the past 3 years, which is in contrast to some comments made earlier.

With all the ridiculous and fictitious garbage you spew, it's difficult to quote anything you say!

Right..you only pointed out that "Fenway reeks of piss". How silly of me to suggest you were calling the place a dump.

Journey/Survivor wrote: Cleveland has been voted the best sports city in America countless times by countless news papers, magazines and websites throughout America.

This is simply one more example of you spewing complete bullshit! I challenge you to find one newspaper or sports writer (idiotic fan internet sites don't count) who has EVER ranked Cleveland even in the top 5 when it comes to best sports cities in America! I'll give you a week to find it and post it here! I guarantee you that unless you're writing the article, Cleveland will NEVER, EVER, EVER be ranked as the number one sports city in America. That's laughable, even to most Cleveland natives!

Journey/Survivor wrote: You can deny it if you want, but yes, Boston reporters were commenting last October about how Indians fans were being more supportive of their team than Red Sox fans were of their's. They weren't saying that Red Sox fans weren't supportive of their team, just that Indians fans were even more supportive.

Again...more bullshit! I can tell you as someone who lived in Boston for almost 40 years that there isn't one reporter in that city who would EVER say something like that, even if it were true! They'd be run out of the city of Boston if they were stupid enough to make a comment like that, on the record!

Right, by "The Cleveland Ball Washers of America"! Give me a break, Lake Erie Boy. The shit you come up with is soooo fucking ridiculous.

John from Boston

p.s. You're a jackass!

Again asshole, you don't come even close to quoting me correctly.

Asshole, get this through your thick skull. I said that OTHER PEOPLE ON OTHER WEBSITES have talked about Fenway reeking of piss. I did NOT say that Fenway reeks of piss. But again, you change my quote in your typical bullshit way to try to put words in my mouth.

Motherfucker, I live here in Cleveland, you don't, I saw the fucking reporters from Boston on the Cleveland news talking about how the Indians fans were being more supportive than the Red Sox fans in Boston. Again, I didn't say that they were saying that Red Sox fans weren't supporting their team, simply just that they were saying that Indians fans were even more supportive. That is a FACT! No matter how much you want to deny that it remains a FACT.

Every single person from Cleveland would tell you that Cleveland is the greatest sports city in America. But more importantly as far as this argument is concerned, countless national publications have named Cleveland as the best sports city in America, that's a fact no matter how much you want to deny it.

And again, it was national media that named Indians fans as being the second best Baseball fans in America behind only Cardinals fans.

Now, how much of what I just said are you going to misquote?

World Series titles? 6 for the Sox, 1 for the Indians.

Super Bowls? Patriots 3, Browns 0.

The Bruins haven't won a Stanley Cup since I wore diapers, but last time I checked, 5 was still five more than 0. And don't count Cleveland's 1 AHL championship. That's a MINOR league team.

How many people sign waiting lists 10 years in advance for the Cleveland Marathon?

Your lame-assed Indians fans could barely crack a thousand per night back in the Brook Jacoby days.

First of all the Celtics have existed a lot longer than the Cavs, therefore they have had more opportunities to win a Championship than the Cavs have had. And the biggest majority of the Celtics titles came before the Cavs existed. The Celtics haven't been a powerhouse in the NBA for most of the time that the Cavs have existed. Second of all the Cavs had the worst owner in the NBA in the early 1980's, and he flushed away any chance of contending while he owned them.

The Indians have won 2 World Series titles, not 1. And that most recent Indians World Series Title came against the Boston Braves.

If it wasn't for the Yankees being as dominant in the 1950's as any sports team has been, the Indians would have won several World Series Titles at that time. Look up the stats from the 1950's.

The Patriots have only won a Super Bowl because they've cheated their ass's off. There should be an asterisk next to all 3 of the Patriots Super Bowl Titles.

The Browns were as dominant in the late 40's and all of the 50's and most of the 60's as any Professional Football team has ever been, but the Super Bowl didn't exist at that time. But by all rights the Championship game back then was the Super Bowl only without that particular name.

Like I've said before, we love AMERICAN sports here in Cleveland! I couldn't give a rats ass about Hockey.

Cleveland does have one of the biggest marathons in the country. But I'll give you that one, Boston does have the biggest marathon.

And don't fucking tell me about what size crowds the Indians were getting back in the 80's, I live here, you don't. Our smallest crowds were around 6 to 7 thousand fans a night. And like I mentioned, that was when the Indians were one of the worst teams in Baseball, had an old and outdated stadium that Art Model was to cheap to put any money into for upkeep, it would be in the month of April in bitter cold temperatures with the cold wind wiping in off the frozen lake, and on a week night. I practically lived at Cleveland Municipal Stadium back in the 1980's, I know what the crowds were like.

Shithead, until you have the guts to call me gay to my face you'd better shut the fuck up. Your a big talker over the internet.

And later tonight I will do an internet search for some of the many national publications that have named Cleveland as being the best sports city in America. The Cavs game is going to start soon, and I'm gonna be offline for a while.
