I remember the big flap in our house the night the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan (1964); I was 6; my sister was 17. Dad was yelling about long haired hooligans, sis was swooning, I was enchanted... :D

Okay, other than the songs I learned in preschool, this is the first song I remember hearing on the radio.
My Uncle was listening to it in the car while driving us to Disneyland. I think he thought we were all asleep.

It was either that or the theme song from Blazing Saddles. :P

Oh my... the songs that get nominated would be "By the Rivers of Babylon" by Boney M. and 'Eternal Flame' by The Bangles.
Btw, I'm from '86...

First remembered was "You're In My Heart" by Rod Stewart.

Foppishly, I still fog up when I hear it since it reminds me of riding around in the car with my mom (who is still thankfully with us, btw, no tragedy story there just an good early childhood memory). :)

Ditto....

As for radio songs, I remember riding in the very back of our old family truckster station wagon and distinctly remember the songs "Did You Happen To See The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" by Charlie Rich and "Rhinestone Cowboy" by Glen Campbell.

Fifty ways to leave you lover by Paul Simon and You picked a fine time to leave me lucille by Kenny Rogers.

I remember them clearly. In his younger days my dad played for a softball team which travelled around eastern South Dakota on weekends. I (five back then) used to come along. My dads buddy was a huge guy nick-named Poochi. I can distinctly remember rolling into Country Kitchen whilst on these road trips. They had those juke boxes on in the booths back in them days and ole pooch would throw quarters into the machine and play those two songs and sing along to them (in hopes of swooning the waitresses I think) . still makes me chuckle.

Mine too!! To this day I still love that song! :)

My parents split in '88 so this was about late '86 to early '87. We had an old brown recliner next to a large picture window from which you could see a giant streetlight down the road... I was still in diapers at the time, so of course I had the lyrics all wrong. But I thought the one part went "I don't wanna let you go to see the light." As a toddler, I thought it meant that streetlight. So I have a vivid memory of being a child and sitting in that recliner looking at that light and singing along to that song. Not to mention singing the Mickey Mouse Club song in Rainbow Brite panties jumping from cushion to cushion on the couch going "M-I-C... K-E-Y... M-O-U... S-E!" The couch had 3 cushions.

Ok, wow, yeah, memory lane is going to close for the day now.
