Top Grossing Tours of 2007!

Postby jwarr » Sun Feb 03, 2008 3:22 am

Van Halen was the 5th best grossing tour of 2007! The tour started in October, Amazing!! Over 55 million $$$ earned.
Yes ticket prices were a little spendy, Though nothing like the Eagles, Madonna, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Billy Joel.
I Bought the $400.00 5star package to see Van Halen w/ Sammy Hagar in 2004. A good show, Not worth $400.00! I spent $200.00 to see the ROTH-Reunion, GREAT show-Still not sure if it was worth the money. BUT,I'd pay it again and maybe more!!
Is there a show out there that you've paid a few hundred dollars or more for ,Walked away feeling it was worth it. Would you spend a $1000.00 dollars to see Led Zeppelin reunite and feel totally satisfied!?! Maybe I'm stingy, Plus I don't have that kind of money.
Anyways, Van Halen is a great band w/Hagar and finally, Roth. Look forward to overspending in 2008!!

I caught the OU812 tour twice(My Fav.!), Balance, VH111, 2004 Reunion and 2007 Reunion and hopefully more!

Oh, my seat to the debut show in Charlotte was well worth the $120. THE best frontman (notice I didn't say "lead singer") in the world, the most innovative axeman since Hendrix...the greatest American hard rock band ever? Hell, yeah.

Yeah Brother!! I agree.
By the way, I lied. The 2007 tour numbers were $56,700,000 from Oct. thru Dec 31st(Ranked 3rd)! They would have easily been the top grossing band, had they got together when they originally planned.
Every Band has an ocassional bad night, Also this isn't VH of 1984, It's 2008! Some peoples expectations are too high.
GO SEE THEM!!!!, They still rock!!

Could you please list the rankings? I believe Hannah Montana was 1 and Faith Hill/Tim Mcgraw 2. I know Hannah Montana's tour wasn't very long either....actually much shorter than VHs.

It's 2007 and all but two of those are classic rockers who have been around 30 years or more. Isn't that amazing?!

Not at all. These guys (except for Timberlake and Matthews) are all exceptional musicians. No new bands have any idea how to put on a show anymore.

Dude, you have to admit, "Dick in a Box" was pretty brilliant! :D

Makes you wonder how much a full on reunion would have grossed with all original members.

Probably not much more. Eddie and Dave are Van Halen.

How much more could they have grossed? The first leg of the tour sold 99.6% of all available seats. Only reason it wasn't 100% was they opened up obstructed seats behind the stage....and still sold almost all of them.

I wouldn't go so far as to say nobody cares whether Mike is there or not....but the vast majority don't care enough to pass up seeing Dave with Van Halen again.

I still think there will be a new record with Dave sometime next year.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night

We paid $250 for the 4 star package in Milwaukee and ended up dead center right in front of the ramp. The seats were good. But I would rather have been front row off to the side.

We decided to go again to the Chicago show and scored 14th row for $150. I think I will enjoy this show more. Considering how much we spent for the 4 star seats, I was stressed the whole night.

Great show though.
