Few teams in sports benefit from jaded officiating more than the Flyers. It's really unbelievable.

Go Flyers!

Have you always felt this way about him Moose or are these
new flame thrown feelings for this Fella?

Personally he has been the voice of Hockey to me for so long
that I dislike listening to the game broadcast anywhere else.

What a game that was last night, I'm still licking my cup woes today. :(
Congrats Philly fans it was a good series, good luck with the puck in round three.

You're right Moonbeam - Bob Cole's been the HNIC voice for so long, can't get used to anyone else. But I'm also old enough to remember the legend Foster Hewitt - came out of retirement in '72 for the Canada-Russia series. I was a kid but I remember my dad (huge hockey fan himself) letting me stay home from school to watch the finals.

Sorry about the Habs loss :( - haven't quite decided who has my support now, but I'll be watching 'til the end!

That, my good man, is a complete joke!

I could start with Leon Stickle handing the Icelanders the Cup in game six of the 1980 finals, and write an anthology of bad calls after that.

Bottom line....NHL officials SUCK!

You think the NHL wants the Flyers to win? Boy, don't I wish!

Listen, I realize that everyone's home town announcers are their favorite, but Cole sounded downright distraught everytime the Flyers scored last night. That is blatant homerism. CBC is a national (Canada) network feed, yes?

Mike Emerick (NBC/Versus) never sounds like he is rooting, and he is an announcer for the NJ Devils.

Just sayin....

Bossy, Tonelli, Trottier, and Gillies handed the Flyers their asses in 1980. The better team won.

Thanks for the sympathies Triple S, muchly appreciated.
Wow your Dad sounds great, let off school to watch Hockey.
You lucky Lord Stanley lover you!

Yes Moose CBC is a Canadian feed and I can understand why
you feel as you do about Cole, I was just curious.
I am looking forward to watching a doubled up PA series.
Good luck in the upcoming games Fella.

They won in six games, but they hardly "handed the Flyers their asses". You act as if you were there. I actually was, at each of the three games in Philly. The Flyers crushed NY in game five, and there was no way the Isles would have won game 7 at the Spectrum. But that is ancient history. The Islanders were a great team. I’ll leave it at that.

The more pertinent thing is that you said the Flyers benefited from the officiating.

Absolutely ludicrous.

Moon...my condolences to you and the other classier Habs fans. (Not you Uno)

Losing a hard fought series is very draining. Montreal had a tremendous year, however, and your future is bright.

Pittsburgh is going to be very tough….can’t wait!

Bullwinkel, YngJourney, strap on your seatbelts
cuz this "Turnpike Series" is gonna be
Fucking Brutal!!!

The beauty is, even though I'm from Da 'Burgh,
I think BOTH teams have a shot at knocking off
Dallas or the Wings so, either way, I'll be a happy
camper when this series finally ends...

But don't hate me, Bullwinkle, if I hope
Gill and Orpick knock Umberger into next year
and that Malkin, Crosby and Hossa send Biron home crying to his mommy!

Good Luck Philly Fans!!!
It's gonna be fun!!!

I should slap you silly for saying this but I think I'll
enjoy it more if The Red Wings do it instead.
Yes I do think it will be an exciting series, that I'll agree with ya on.

Moose thanks for the condolences Sir, my Hab lovin heart is still sunkered over the loss.

No hating here brother! This is what the playoffs are all about. Two rivals who with genuine disdain for each other going for the cup. I want to see Steve Downie put his stick under Crosby's chin a couple of times...

Friday can't get here soon enough!

Flyers 3-0 vs Penguins in playoffs.

won 5/8 meetings this year, this series is FAR from a bygone foreclusion for the Pens.

It's gonna be hard fought for BOTH teams...
Sure, the Flyers won 5 of 8 in the regular season
but the Pens are playing MUCH better hockey than
they were in those initial meetings.

Same can be said for the Flyers as well.
Both teams are riding hot goaltenders, both
teams are getting HUGE goals/forechecking from
their "role-players" and BOTH teams' "Superstars"
are bringing their A-Games every night.

The only advantage I see the Pens having right now
is their power-play. Good God, I don't have to get
on that ice but, just thinking of trying to stop
the Power-Play unit of Crosby-Malkin-Hossa-Malone-Gonchar
night-after-night scares the shit outa me

They are pretty damn scary. The Flyers must avoid dumb penalties to have a chance.

I must sling some mud here, forgive me please.
The Flyers scored more penalty moments than other puck hopefuls this season.

I just had to spew some sewage towards the team that killed my Stanley second round sought hopes.

All I was trying to say in my own sentence structure Carlitto, was.......
Philly had the most penalty mins this year didn't they?
I could be wrong as I'm just wanting to take a slap-shot at Philly.

Flyers D Timonen likely out of East finals with blood clot
By DAN GELSTON – 19 minutes ago

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen will likely miss the Eastern Conference finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins because of a blood clot in his ankle.

Philadelphia general manager Paul Holmgren said Timonen was hit with a shot in Game 4 against Montreal. The Flyers eliminated the Canadiens in five games and will open the next series at Pittsburgh on Friday night.

"We have to view this that he's not a player for us in the series, and march on," Holmgren said Thursday night.

Timonen is the Flyers' top defenseman and played a crucial role in shutting down Washington's Alex Ovechkin for most of the seven-game, first-round series. Timonen was fantastic at anticipating plays, attacking Ovechkin with the puck and taking away space to create easy goals.

He was just as effective against Montreal's Alex Kovalev, and was being counted on to limit Pittsburgh's top forwards Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

FUCK!
