Hey, I looked and dressed just like those gals there. Ah, the '80s. Those were good years. Never paid attention to Journey, though, and I was right there in San Francisco, too. I knew more about Huey Lewis & the News. Go figure.
Hey, Deb, there is a show with EM & JSS in June? Where and when? Maybe I'll take a ride over and visit my Dad.

Bay Area Rock Promotions is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Bay Area
Rock Festival at the Independent in San Francisco on June 27th and 28th
2008. Liquid Tension Experiment and Jeff Scott Soto will headline the
premier west coast festival for progressive and melodic music.

In 1998 and 1999, Liquid Tension Experiment released two instrumental
albums that set the prog world on fire. The project featured Dream
Theater's Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci , virtuoso keyboardist Jordan
Rudess and bass legend Tony Levin. After the success of the two albums
and the project's undeniable chemistry, Rudess was asked to join Dream
Theater full-time and the project was put on the shelf for an
indefinite
hiatus until now! The quartet has reunited to revisit the magical music
they created 10 years ago and tap back into their chemistry for a whole
new musical experiment. They are closing out their limited tour on
Saturday night as the headliner of the festival.

Jeff Scott Soto headlines the first night of the festival, bringing his
talented mix of rock, metal and funk back to San Francisco after
recently fronting Journey. Joining him onstage for a special guest
appearance will be Dave Meniketti and Phil Kennemore from Y&T, as well
as Eric Martin.

Returning to the festival for a 2nd year are Bay Area bands Enchant and
Zero Hour. Zero Hour is debuting their new album "The Dark Deceiver"
available on Sensory Records. Making their North American debut
Saturday night is Netherlands prog metal sensation Sun Caged. The
Rocket
Scientists with special guest Lana Lane will be appearing on Friday
night. Additional bands will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for the festival will be on sale Sunday May 4th at Tickets.com.
2 day discounted festival passes will be available as well as single
day
tickets. Only 500 tickets will be made available. For more details
visit www.bayarearockfest.com or www.independentsf.com

Okay, got it! Never heard of Independent before. Missed a lot since I moved away from the Bay Area. Never much a hardcore with the music scene even when I was there, but everybody knows Bill Graham and the Fillmore, right?

Yup, been working too hard. Think I should take a long weekend off and go visit my Dad in Alameda. Meet up with you gals from the old PV board at the show Friday night. Who else is going?

Whoa, Deb, you coming down all the way from Canada?

Yep, was already coming down for the Cali JSSB shows, so when EM was added as a guest appearance......was just icing on the cake. There is only 2 singers I'll cross the border to see perform, ok 3.....but one of them isn't performing any more right now. :( LOL, 2 of my 3 favorite vocalists on one stage......yep, I'm soooo there! :D As far as I know, it's Cindi and I only ones from the old PV.....and Lora and Cyndy. Looking forward to seeing some friends I haven't seen in a while........well, since MRfest anyways.

There is a few threads going in Jeff's forum here on MR.........you'll probably recognize a bunch of MR people that are going. :)

A lot of guys did in the 80s. :P

there were a couple of times where eric borrowed some of my shirts & bolos for photo shoots.

Thank you for sharing that.

Cyndy, you are a tiny little petite gal! How tall (or thin) was Eric back then?

remember - big, oversized shirts over leggings were all the rage during that era. mine were big enough for eric to fit into.

 Hey Cyndy, these your clothes? j/k  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJUc-44ptMI

Gawd I love that tune, got a bluesy feel to it.....reminds me of Journey's Walk's Like A Lady. :)
