OT: Hi - Introducing Myself

Hi People,

I have been a reader and supporter (got the T-shirt) of this site for years. I am a a massive fan of Journey, Toto and just about any music as long as it played by real musicians - people with talent.

I hope to be able to join in some of the banter/debate here from time to time.

I was wondering what you guys think of the Rippingtons. They can come across as a bit smooth jazz, but live they are phenomenal. Progrocker - check out Kim Stones bass run at the start of this track. Russ Freemans guitar tone is awesome and he plays a great melodic guitar solo. Tony Morales on drums and Steve Reid on percussion are great players.

Yeah, sadly your departure led to their slide into smooth jazz territory. Can't you guys reconcile your differences? Bring the Rokk back to the Rippingtons. It's what the world wants to see.

Ok, gotta confess... it wasn't really me. It was Tip "Ripper" Owens. But he's working with Malmsteen now, so I don't see a reunion on the horizon.

Thanks Lula, I was going to mention that myself but I thought if he likes donuts that much he is probably bigger than me! Actually, I've been reading this board long enough to have realised that if you take yourself too seriously you soon get taken down.

Just knocked off work, it's bloody hot over here for a change and the beer in the fridge is calling to me.
