Journey! hands down. Mark was awesome with Dire straits sure, but he's gone country now right?

Go see Journey, not even a contest.

I'm sure Mark will pull out some Industrial Disease, but I agree, it's a hands down, no brainer. I know you've seen Journey, but you haven't seen them with Arnel. He's a blast to watch, and the boy has pipes.

This may not be popular.

Journey with Steve Perry = 1st choice.

Mark and his incredible guitar playing over a fractured lineup of Journey.

I don't think you have anything but fun either way, but that is my opinion. (Ducks the thrown garbage)

Something tells me you will save around 50 dollars U.S. or more going to see Mark too.

In the end, just go to whatever show you want to and have a good time.

What's the difference? Dire Straits wasn't a band after the first one or two albums, it was Mark and a rotating cast of characters. I think going under his own name simply freed him to follow his muse on his albums without them being expected to sound exactly like Brothers In Arms. He still plays DS songs in concert, and his recent solo albums have been really, really solid, even if they don't rock as much as I wish they would sometimes. And the Emmylou album was awesome, one of my favorite records of 2006.

Mark is a guy acknowledging his past but still moving into the future and doing it for the music, even if it means playing smaller venues. Journey is a band living off the past and doing a show designed to sell as many tickets as possible...I think that's a pretty obvious choice.

A Boy George/George Michael ticket would be great if it weren't for all the Euro fags that would attend...even though both singers are Euro fags.!!! I'd caulk my asshole shut and wear teflon underwear and go see the show anyway. A lot of great 80's music between those two poop pushers.

I'm being 100% truthful. Culture Club had some catchy tunes in the 80's. That said, I certainly wouldn't be found hanging out back stage.

I had a bank call me one time about a loan and when I answered, the loan officer said "Can I speak with Richard" I said "This is him. He said "Hi Dick, how are you?" That was the first and only time someone out of the blue called me that. That's kind of amazing because that's a common nickname of Richard. Oh well, I've been called worse.

I think you made the right call. A live Knophler show in the states is a rarity, and Journey will be touring till kingdom come...

- And Knopler's post DS work is sublime! He has toyed with some traditional country, but most of his stuff would fit right alongside anything he did with Dire Straits...Case in point, from his 07 release...

George Michael is brilliant. "Listen Without Prejudice" is one of those rare records which doesn't have one bad song...an amazing achievement.

I'm going to see him in Atlanta this summer.

Knopfler is a flat-out genius...I would probably go to his show because he doesn't tour as often.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

George Micheal's phenomenal, can't argue with nor chop down that catalogue.

Culture Club, SJ, meh....other than Church Of The Poison Mind, I can live w/out them.
