Buuuut they do need someone to fill the hole in the songwriting that Perry left. Jon can't write everything alone...
Pffft. You could fill that hole with a 2 inch dick.

Really? You really can't recognize how many great songs Perry/Cain wrote for Journey?

TBF would have been a great Journey kick-ass album (my opinion of course) if only they had cut down the tracks to 11, eliminating the slow songs (which does sound like it might fit in a Perry solo album). Personally, I love all of TBF because it has SP singing on it (never can get enough of the man). But, it would eliminate the snoozefest comments.
Now, I also think Arrival suffered from too many tracks. After the 1st 5 or 6 (which I enjoyed), all the songs started to sound the same (to me). and I'm ready to turn it off. I actually like listening to Generations a lot more than Arrival. FITH is the best SA-sung rocker and Beyond the Clouds best ballad, imo.
I don't know, what it comes down to is what the artists/bands ultimately decided to do. Do you reward the faithful with lots of songs on your record, or do you risk losing the casual by putting them to sleep with too many songs on it?
OMG..you can't be serious..None of the songs on Arrival sound the same.. And you like Generations better,I'm beside myself! Why don't you give Arrival another listen.. Neal even stated they did too many songs. Arrival sounds more like classic Journey than most of the stuff Journey did after Separate ways.. All of the things,World gone wild,I got a reason,we will meet again, live and breathe,Too be alive again..All stellar songs..You are deaf if you can't hear the classic Journey sound in these..Augeri did an admiral job!

Surely your most bizarre comment to date NMT?
If you're going to quote me, how about not editing what I said in order to make your typically pompous reply fit..

I'm quite sure that Cain was the backbone behind the writing "team." Especially considering the songs Perry wrote alone are terrible and the ones Cain wrote alone are great. Not to mention that FTLOSM had 4,342 outside writers on it if I remember correctly...and it still sucked lyrically (musically too). Vocally it was great, but all things considered it still sucked.

How does the use of the word "musically" make the slightest bit of difference? Of course we're talking about the music. What did you think I was referring to?

He's talking about the actual instruments, dick face. Perhaps a slight variation in a "fill" or a different guitar riff for example. Or maybe just the fact that today's instruments may sound better. At any rate, what he said had nothing to do with Arnel's vocals, though you tried to make it look that way.

Patiently is one I believe and it's horrible. "Hear I stand so patiently?" Are you fucking serious?!?! Skip.

PS I went back and looked at his original post and the one you quoted. I see you even added a "period" at the end of his statement when the original statement actually continued. You're busted, you faggy Euro.

Your imitation of Deano is becoming more pathetic by the day Saint John. Maybe my memory deceives me..but didn't you have a personality of your own at some stage?

You put a fucking period at the end of someone's quote to make it appear as if that was the whole comment when in fact it wasn't. It was a blatant attempt to start a Perry-Arnel war. I've never seen anyone else do that. And what the fuck is a "full-stop?"
Nothing that Journey will do this year will be be superior to anything that Journey did with Steve P.Whoever told you that was on crack.Matthew wrote:Saint John wrote:Matthew wrote:

I've already said I misunderstood NMT's use of the word "musically". I thought - not unreasonably - that "musically" also included the singing. Had I understood his meaning and then cut it out you might have a point....
A Perry-Arnel war? I don't know about that. I actually like Arnel and am going to see Journey next month. I was just responding to someone who - on the basis of some low quality 30 second clips from Walmart - was claiming that the band's performance was superior to those of the classic era. It just seemed like an outlandish comment.
And in any case Saint John...aren't you the one who launches daily attacks on Perry and sucks up to Arnel and the rest of the band like a star-struck teenage groupie? Looks like if anyone wants a war around here it's you.

The GH Ive heard have SP harmonies and all of Journeys rerecords just with different vocals. That really sucks.I liked some of the new stuff, they should not of tainted it with karoke bullshit.Rick wrote:stevew2 wrote:Nothing that Journey will do this year will be be superior to anything that Journey did with Steve P.Whoever told you that was on crack.Matthew wrote:Saint John wrote:Matthew wrote:

We certainly agree there.
To back track, the newly recorded GH will almost have to sound better than the originals musically. They've played them a thousand times since then. Couple that with the enhancements in recording technology today and there you are.

No, I sure don't. Maybe a little Jamison.
The fact that you do is probably a huge compliment to Arnel though. I'm sure he appreciates it too.

If you could somehow get the layers of man goo off of your eyes you would be capable of reading the reviews I have given Arnel thus far. But, for the goo-eye impaired I'll recap: First concert in Chile-D+ or C-....First show I actually saw him at in Vegas at the private event...C or C+...the Planet Hollywood gig where the DVD was shot I gave him a C+ or a B-. I'm not sure how I "suck up to the band" but if it's anywhere near the level of keyboard dry humping that you afford Friga, then yes, I need to reassess my posting patterns.
