Dude,

Put Arnel and Perry said by side and it's super easy to tell the difference. Arnel is not nearly as smooth as Perry was. Arnel presents the same type of vibe but I don't think he sounds like Perry much. Opinions vary I guess and that's what makes the world go around. The key his that Arnel still delivers that "sound" that I expect to hear when I listen to Journey.

L8r bro,

Aaron

This statement baffles me. If you listen to the re-record samples at WalMart.com, Arnel emulates each and every note and nuance that Perry sang, attempting to clone him as closely as possible. Some people who didn't know it was a re-record might even think it was Perry. How can you say he doesn't sound like a Perry clone? That was the whole idea.

The_Noble_Cause wrote:If recent experience taught us anything, it's that the paramount criteria for Neal and Jon is someone who sounds like Perry.

Exactly. If Arnel doesn't sound like a Perry clone, then that means Neal and Jon failed. However, I think Arnel does an exceptionally good job at cloning Perry - much better than anyone I've ever heard.

You're spot on here Jeremey. It looks like you prioritized your family over the band and made a decision based on putting your family first. Nicely done ....

3) Yes, you and Arnel are now on a level playing field in the U.S. He took the gig that you seemingly balked on. I'll venture to guess that he sings in front of more fans this year, moves more albums and sees more $$$. Advantage Arnel.

I can't see how anyone would want to even put an advantage of one person or another, like some competition...That's insane! I am getting what I want out of life on my own terms, and so is Arnel...Seems like we both made out pretty well, if you ask me. My short time with Journey was a life altering experience, and it's something that I'll never regret....But the eventual outcome worked out best for ALL parties. Besides...How do you know how much money I make? Or Arnel for that matter?

While I agree that her drudging up a post from April 27th from a guy that's banned was bullshit, this post is way over the top, dude. "Die already?" C'mon, man.

get over yourself.

Whatever, Wendy. When you & I were going at it, it was because YOU went at me first. Why? Because I had the utter audacity to publicly wish for good things for Jeremey when he was in the running for the lead singer job. Funny thing is that you've done the exact same thing with Arnel. Of course I haven't called you on it, but since you decided to stick your nose in to this discussion, I think you're a hypocrite.

Perhaps you need to get over yourself, and stay out of shit that has nothing to do with you.

Enough is enough. Donna, you haven't actually joined in a conversation here (except to bait) in months.

So prove to me you want to be part of this community, or you are next out the door.

I'm freakin' PUMPED about the new record. It sounds like their best material since 1983.

Pineda sounds EXACTLY like Perry on "Never Walk Away". I've played the song for about a dozen different people at the studio, and EVERY ONE has said something to the effect of "Holy Crap! This is great! When did Perry get back with Journey?"
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
