Put Arnel and Perry said by side and it's super easy to tell the difference. Arnel is not nearly as smooth as Perry was. Arnel presents the same type of vibe but I don't think he sounds like Perry much. Opinions vary I guess and that's what makes the world go around. The key his that Arnel still delivers that "sound" that I expect to hear when I listen to Journey.

This statement baffles me. If you listen to the re-record samples at WalMart.com, Arnel emulates each and every note and nuance that Perry sang, attempting to clone him as closely as possible. Some people who didn't know it was a re-record might even think it was Perry. How can you say he doesn't sound like a Perry clone? That was the whole idea.

If recent experience taught us anything, it's that the paramount criteria for Neal and Jon is someone who sounds like Perry.

Exactly. If Arnel doesn't sound like a Perry clone, then that means Neal and Jon failed. However, I think Arnel does an exceptionally good job at cloning Perry - much better than anyone I've ever heard.

I can't see how anyone would want to even put an advantage of one person or another, like some competition...That's insane! I am getting what I want out of life on my own terms, and so is Arnel...Seems like we both made out pretty well, if you ask me. My short time with Journey was a life altering experience, and it's something that I'll never regret....But the eventual outcome worked out best for ALL parties.
