I'll steal John Spinks late in the second round.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

And I take the first "reach" of the draft - Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda in the 3rd round.

I agree with whoever said Geddy Lee. Billy Sheehan should also be in there.

I also nominate Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson on keys.

Vocals: Neil Diamond
Lead Guitar: JY (and without a fuckin' doubt - not allowed to sing, in any capacity what so ever)
Madolin/Acoustic & backing vocals: Tommy Shaw
Percussion: Todd Sucherman

I haven't a clue how this thread works but I'm tellin' ya all, this is the final lineup, full fuckin' stop....okay:

I think Kip Winger on bass. Kip can play and has the ability to write.

Kenny Aronoff or Steve Smith on drums.

Quite honestly I think Jagger is a 3rd-rounder at best!

You must be high, or not high enough? :P

LOL!!

I like the Rolling Stones but I don't see what's so great about Jagger when compared to so many other singers out there. I just don't. He works well for what the band does though, I'll give him that.

Mick Jagger came out at the right place at the right time, like most of the other below average vocalists, he's a not a good singer at all, but he's a part of history and what has become of The Rolling Stones, and if you like that type of stuff, great. But comparing Jaggers vocal ability to any Melodic rock singers is obsurd, he's not even in the same league and skill level.

Muddy Waters, though an influential blues guitarist, is not eligible for the Rock Music Draft.

Who the fuck are you to say who can or can't be drafted? :P If she wants to draft "Kinkade" from The fucking Partridge Family in the 3rd round to drive her band's tour bus, well then dammit, she can!!!

  Wait, I thought you agreed to take Kinkade and Micky Dolenz in a trade & I get your first and second rounds in whatever event Prog dreams up next.

Actually, I think Dave got me on blues being by definition derivative, much as I hate to concede a point to an evil conservative. :D

Wait!!!! Has anybody grabbed Laurie for keyboards? :D

Perhaps not, but 100 years from now Jagger will be studied in Music History classes and no one will know or care who the fuck Jimi Jamison or "fill in the fat guy with the moustache" from Toto were! Why? Cause he's MICK FUCKING JAGGER, that's why! He's practically the prototype for every "lead singer" out there.
One thing no one ever seems to talk about on these boards is CHARISMA folks, what we call in the Theatre world "stage presence/magic"...I've seen some of the finest technical actors out there never amount to a damn thing because they have no PRESENCE. You can't teach it, and you can't buy it. You have it, or you don't. It sucks, and it's one of the cold hard truths of the acting (and really EVERY form of entertainment) world...
Same thing with rock and roll singers. Jagger's got it in spades...so does DLR.Neither one of 'em can sing worth a fuck...and you know what? MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of adoring fans could give a shit! It's TRULY rare that you find a real marriage of great presence and great ability (one..ahem...STEVE PERRY comes to mind!) It's a sad truth, but like it or not, it IS the truth...

...and no offense to Jimi. He's a nice Memphis boy...he's just my go-to guy to slag whenever someone starts throwing stones at...well, the STONES.

Forgive any typos- hard to type while holding a two month old baby!

Oh, and before Deano steals him- I'm taking the BOSS in the first round, and I'll use my third round pick to steal Bruce's band mate Nils Lofgrin. Have you guys heard this man play??? Jeebus, he's like from another planet!

And Prog, can I trade my 5th round pick and future considerations to resurrect Eric Carr????

I'd see Rolie and Portnoy is good. As mentioned, Wilton doesn't play bass and Sambora is a good fit for Bon Jovi. No comment on the singer.

With my first pick, I will select on drums, Steve Smith.

By the way, which Steve Smith is better?

The football player, basketball player, retired hockey player, or the drummer?

Well, I know that Steve Smith the "football" player KILLED me in my fantasy league last season...

Actually, it was probably more due to the fact that the Panther's quarterbacks couldn't stay out of the ER long enough to complete a pass...
