Perry never calls him up, when he's alone at night.
What can a poor boy do?
Their love is in a fix.

Steve Perry is not perpetuating anything and the only one spouting bullshit is you. People who have heard him sing recently - like Cyndy and I, Steve Lukather, Nuno Bettencourt & Joe Benson - have stated so but certainly not at the request of SP. So, are you calling us liars? The agenda of you and your pal Tito is quite obvious, typically juvenile and sadly predictable.
The only "people" whose opinions count are the fans. Minus a one-time pit stop to throw out a few hugs, his annual self-absorbed Q&A, and the every so often release of rehashed material (which ironically usually coincides with something Journey is releasing) I'm not so sure he remembers his fans. And I'm so not interested in the testimonials of his PR secretaries, 2 guitarists in has been bands, or some acid drenched, ass kissing, hippy DJ. Are you guys liars? No, just loyal friends and employees. Biased? Yes.

Fuckin Beacon's an awesome boot.
Agreed. I've got all the (known) boots from that year and they're all pretty damn good.

I don't know about that ... put him against the likes of Bono and Sting and he seems shy and modest.

I've heard her sing in recent years and she still has a great voice, although sometimes straining on the high notes and often ducking them altogether. So what? She still has a great voice, connects well with the audience and is one of the greatest female voices in rock. So, should I throw her under the bus and say she sucks now and has lost her voice?
If Perry has been working on his voice after not singing for years and he can still pull off a FTLOSM or TBF era vocal, then he is every bit as good as Ann Wilson, who's touring with Journey and Cheap Trick. No singer is going to sound like they did at the height of their career. For you 40 or 50 year olds, go record your own talking voice and compare it to what you sounded like 15 or 20 years ago. No doubt you'll sound the same.![]()
Anybody that gets Perry's talent knows that while he is known for his high end, he's just as well known for technique and delivery. Not many singers are left from his era that ever had that going for them in the first place. Lukather isn't known for throwing compliments out, so I'm inclined to believe what he says. I don't want to judge a potential new CD from Perry....I want to listen to it and enjoy it! If we see it, it's been a long time comin'.

I think the Pitts PA show was right around the time that tour got shitcanned... so if it was a bad show, it might have been the health thing. I don't remember 'bad' one (to be fair, I haven't listened all the way throug to most of them...LOL), so I'd have to pull it up and listen. But I know a friend real close to there had tickets to one of the first cancelled shows, so the timing might indicate maybe he was already ill for that one. I don't actually know the date of that one so I could be totally wrong. ??
