Ok!!! Does this make you feel better? As If you haven't heard it before  99.99% of your posts about the Band in its present form are negative and it gets old. Geez!!! Sorry for calling you names :P
We are cool, may not agree, you are okay,my intention is not to troll,I just get pissed at times, I still like the music of Journey, just not all the personal shit within the band, I shouldnt involve myself with it, but most people here do it.There is a plus to being a casual fan i guess

Two years? IF true, he's been building for this for upwards of 12 years. Minimum 7 years. Steve Perry is the only person in the music business that makes Tom Scholtz look like a workaholic.

No...
IF true, you are right that he hasn't done anything but
"talk about recording again" or "think about singing again"
for the past 12 years.

But I think, and this is just my summation from things I've
heard and read, that he has really started getting himself
back in shape, mentally, physically and vocally, within the past 2 years
to no-shit do something in the studio.

You're absolutely right, Carlitto. It was only in mid-2006 that he talked about "practicing the scales" with the PV gals (Deb was there); then the pix with UJBenson showing a slimmed down SP; and further interviews (when he was promoting the re-releases) talking about going into studios, rumors of working with Nuno B, Randy Goodrum, etc.

If the songs are his children, as he's said, and IF there are new songs in the works, then one can conclude that, figuratively, Steve Perry is pregnant. If he gestates for 2 years like elephants do, I'll be pissed.

Well, fooling around in studios for all these years and doing cameos on BG vox, not using any protection, I'd say it's about damn time he gets knocked up.

See, we've thought he was going into labor a few times, just when you thought he would birth something... he'd just fart.
Are we on the receiving end of another Perry potential album rumor fart? Hmmm... my gas mask is ready.

What chain? What difference does it make? We still carry on - life doesn't stop - if he CHOOSES to create music again it is his choice, just like any other artist. I'm just glad he is the type of person to only put something forth that he truly believes in and feels comes from the heart, even if it takes years. If this doesn't pan out then it doesn't and the reasons we aren't privy to.

From what I read on these forums, people tend to believe SP releases various materials, back catolog and video and what-not, to somewhat coincide with Journey material, so as to mute the impact.

If that is the case, he must be in the studio producing this baby as we speak.

Dunno if I believe him or not. WANT to extend the benefit of the doubt and IF something comes out, as long as it is not oldies or Mowtown covers I will be buying as usual.

No the implication has been that he only ever pops up when there's any stirring with Journey but that's a little insane.
I'll admit the timing is almost always interesting but this was being said when he did the last radio interview about the reissues at the same time Journey was (again) switching lead singers because it aired right when they announced JSS (officially). Those CDs would have been under the knife before SA was even off the tour so how in the hell that could have been strategically planned just to fuck with Journey is beyond me.

I would like to think that a certain couple of reader/posters here talked him into it. If not, then I certainly don't believe it has anything to do with Journey. If we've learned ANYTHING about SP over the years, it's that he does things when he wants to.

What the heck have you and Dan got against Perry doing motown? This song is one of my favorites on the Street Talk cd. I think he excels on anything with a motown feel.
