I would love to go to at least one show if I could, but alas -- the nearest date so far to me in Nashville, and it's smack dab in the middle of the week I think. Plus, the fact that apparently Mick and Barry won't be playing these gigs isn't making me want to go too far out of the way for a show...

Ok I just checked things out on the Dokken Central boards - I guess I'm really out of the loop! I know I saw Mick with Ted last year, but I just thought he was doing a few dates. I got to see the full band (w/ Barry and Mick) last spring, but I suppose that was just because Ted wasn't touring and Barry wasn't busy.

It just seems odd that they are releasing a new album with a lot of potential, but half the band isn't willing to tour behind it.

Ok I just checked things out on the Dokken Central boards - I guess I'm really out of the loop! I know I saw Mick with Ted last year, but I just thought he was doing a few dates. It just seems odd that they are releasing a new album with a lot of potential, but half the band isn't willing to tour behind it.

It's sad for the fans, but I've asked around, and it's just an unfortunate necessity right now. Barry got married and now lives in Italy, so that really hampers his ability to travel -- I think his future with the band is up in the air as well. Mick apparently has to make a check and tour as much as possible, and the Nuge thing came up before Dokken. People tried to say early on not to worry about Mick touring with Ted -- that he staggers the tours, but apparently it was a conflict. In the end, it's all about money and necessity.

Still -- Dokken with only 1 original member is stretching it pretty thin for me, though I'd travel to Don/Jon/Barry/Mick in a heartbeat.
