Shut up, Barak. Still waiting to hear some kind of actual plans for fixing everything... ANYthing... Mr. "Change".
I guess his first plan is to sell your SUVs, stop eating so much and turn your A/C off??

Who the hell does he think he is?Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.
"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

Well, it is Oregon.

The only person getting a free ride this election is McCain. Who still has enough residual good will with the press from 2000 to warrant a pass.
Electorally, Hillary can't win. The numbers don't stack up in her favor.

And the fallout from that NY Times story amounted to what?
In spite of the fact that from that story it was revealed that McCain personally intervened on behalf of a cable company whose CEO he had recieved thousands in donations from. A relationship McCain would initially deny, only to be confirmed by the CEO himself.
Nothing McCain has flubbed (and there's been plenty) has gained nearly as much negative press as Rev. Wright, flag lapel pins, or Mccarythite Hamas insinuations.

The_Noble_Cause wrote:Bullshit.
The other networks (MSNBC, CNN) only rightfully soured on her when it became electorally impossible for her to win.
She can only win this now through some surreptious method of luring superdelegates to her side. She can't lock this up.
conversationpc wrote:She's pretty much been effectively out of the race for over a month now and the media keeps hyping her up regardless.
conversationpc wrote:It seems like that is beginning to wane. If she does manage to steal the nomination, all hell is going to break loose and the Democratic party will be as bad or worse of than the Republican party already is.

He also said parents should stop blaming their kids teachers for the poor performance of their kids at school. It starts with the home, and sound parenting....I like that one, and I'm not a teacher.
His statements may seem frightening, a 180 to current practice, but realize, it's not going to happen over night, and he is not expecting it to. Even though it's 110 in Phoenix right this minute, I understand where he's coming from. I need to install an efficient thermostat in my house so it turns off the a/c when I'm not at home. Stop driving the SUVs. Commit to buying/leasing a hybrid in the next five years (they will be much better, and less gay by then). Someday, maybe we can all telecommute to work. Imagine providing a business justification for having to need to work 'at work'.
It is going to be REAL interesting to see the debates between Mccain (who I have voted for as a State Senator), and the seemingly Teflon Obama. I just hope we don't see his head explode on youtube.
