I am Sir, I am and that's why you'll never see me sporting The Wings
in my sig ending or as an Av.
Detroit has always been my second favorite team though, mostly because
it always brought about a fun rivalry from the Toronto Maple Leaf lovin males in my family.

I have a feeling we're gonna get our leading scorer Johan Franzen back for the Cup series to boot! :D

It should make for a VERY exciting Final,
no matter who wins...
But much sweeter when
the Pens win in six!

Damn! 4-0 just 5 minutes into the second period...
Looks like the Wings watched yesterday's game and took notes

Skill and depth-wise, the Pens and Wings are SO evenly matched right now.
Even on D, The Pens have shown they are as stingey as anyone.
The only thing the Wings have over the Pens is Age and Experience...
But it hasn't hurt the Pens yet.
Their speed, energy and "young, dumb and full of cum" attitude
is paying off

The matchup of the two best teams in the NHL is going to be FANTASTIC.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Not to gloat, but here were my predictions from May 9th:
Uno_up wrote:Penguins in 5. The Flyers slow-footed D is no match for the speed Pittsburgh brings and Biron can't carry these guys forever.
Wings in 6.

Wings over the Penguins in 6.

WOW! There is no better possible scenario for the NHL than to have these two teams match up face to face, toe to toe for the right to be Champions. Couldn't have set up any better.

Pittsburgh Professional Championships

1960 Pirates over Yankees in World Series
1971 Pirates over Orioles in World Series
1975 Steelers over Vikings Super Bowl IX
1976 Steelers over Cowboys Super Bowl X
1979 Steelers over Cowboys Super Bowl XIII
1979 Pirates over Orioles in World Series
1980 Steelers over Rams Super Bowl XIV
1992 Penguins over Minnesota Stanley Cup
1993 Penguins over Chicago Stanley Cup
2006 Steelers over Seahawks Super Bowl XL

Only loss since 1960 came when the Cowboys beat the Steelers in Super Bowl XXX 1995

10 wins and 1 loss in championships since 1960. I wouldn't be placing too many Benji's against the Penguins.

Yeah, and that was because Neal BlowDonnell threw the game. I am convinced he was either completely high on painkillers, or was paid to give the game away. That was a sham.

Are you insinuating that coaching juggernaut Barry Switzer didn’t deserve to hold the Vince Lombardi trophy aloft?

Neil O'donnell was of course the scape-goat in Superbowl XXX. What nobody realizes and I don't blame for the ignorance..is on that 2nd interception that completely sealed the deal..the Stillers coaching staff put in a first year player and made him the target for the hot read.. IN THE SUPERBOWL. His name is Courtney Holliday, and he played one or two snaps during the regular season as a whole. What in the HELL possessed the coaching staff, Esp. Chan Gaily (O-Coordinator) to put in a rookie in the Superbowl who has a total of 4 minutes playing time that year, and make him the hot route?

O'Donnell was throwing the Streak....Holiday was running the Slant.. Quarterback/Reciever not on the same page = a Stillers first and only "L" in a Superbowl where they were huge underdogs, and if it wasn't for those two picks...a winnable game. The Coaching staff lost that game...plain and simple.

Pisses me off.

But Anyway....back to hockey...

Hey now..you DO remember the last time a Pittsburgh team visited Detroit resulted in a Championship? Something tells me history will repeat itself!

Both teams must bring their A game AND BEYOND because both teams can do an equal amount of damage... PAIN.

This feels like Rocky VS Apollo all over again

Great quote from columnist Michael Rosenberg on freep.com

I don’t know how often the four will be on the ice at the same time. But Z and Pav against Sid the Kid and Geno is still alluring. And the fact that the Wings have a pair to compete against Crosby and Malkin is a testament to the Wings’ brilliant front office.

Pittsburgh got Crosby and Malkin the old-fashioned way: by sucking. The Penguins were the worst team in the NHL in 2003-04, and after the Washington Capitals picked Alexander Ovechkin, the Pens picked Malkin. The next season was wiped out by the lockout, but Pittsburgh still reaped the benefits of its 2003-04 misery. The Penguins had the best chance to win the draft lottery, and they won it. They then drafted Crosby, which required as many as three brain cells.

The Wings, meanwhile, drafted Datsyuk 171st overall and Zetterberg 210th overall.

The Penguins also drafted star goalie Marc-Andre Fleury with the No. 1 overall pick. Wings general manager Ken Holland brought in Chris Osgood and Dominik Hasek off the scrap heap, and they were one of the best goalie combos in the league this year.

That’s not a knock on the Penguins. The system is supposed to work like that. But it is amazing that the Wings have defied the system.

Can't wait for the Wings to send all those high draft picks home. :D

Luck...But good luck at that, as the Wings themselves passed on them 5 and 6 times respectively.
It sucks we have to wait until Saturday for this. Like I need another excuse to buy a 28-pack.
