Just once, I wish I could go in to vote and feel good with my choice.

McCain = DICK!
Hilary = The System
Obama = ?

Not feeling too good about voting.

I wish there was a website that actually held each candidate accountable to the promises made going in after their 4 year term...the report card for presidents. I'm so sick of electing presidents based off of sound-bytes. There's never any beef. From a PR perspective, I understand it's a difficult job...on one hand, if you tell the truth of what it would take to actually attack a key issue like, say education, you'll piss a lot of people off.....on the other hand, if you take the high road and say something to the effect "we need more teachers"...or, "we need to take the necessary steps for a better education in America"....if delivered correctly, you get votes....

Just a sad state of affairs, that here we are in America, and we attract folks like Hilary, McCain and Obama to run for president. Is this as good as it gets?

Love the comebacks people gave me. I expected it. Still don't like Obama or what he stands for. But, if elected, don't whine when he raises taxes. It will come, he has already said it.

I live in Illinois, and I still don't feel like I know much about Obama in terms of what he would do as president. If Hillary somehow pulls off the nomination, then my choice is easy in the presidential election. I know enough about what Hillary wants to know that I DON'T want her. The little bits that I'm hearing/reading about Barack really make him sound like a socialist, and that freaks me out a bit. As a small business owner, I'm already being screwed when it comes to paying personal and corporate taxes. Any increases in that and I'll have no choice but to close up shop. I'm the only regular employee, but I hire quite a few freelancers who would in turn have to find work elsewhere.

I don't think a democrat can be trusted with the security of our country. You could also word it "should be trusted".

Funny. Since WWII, how many major wars were started by Democrats? Let's see...none!

How many disastrous wars have the Republicans initiated? Vietnam, Korea, Iraq...let alone the "conflicts" in Panama, Grenada, et cetera...all of which were pre-emptive, whereas the conflicts in which Clinton got the U.S. involved were all sanctioned by the U.N., had peacekeeping troops from over a hundred countries, and were for peacekeeping purposes.

So YOU tell ME, 1960.

You REALLY don't know history: Korea was Truman's baby, Eisenhower put advisors into Viet Nam, but Kennedy and Johnson REALLY got us rolling along.

Panama well...that's iffy...we were asked by the overthrown Government to help and to protect the lives of the Americans there...Gulf War I...well again we were ASKED to help by the world community.

Go study some history before you make such sweeping generalizations.

Fuck off, Stu. You are such a dick.

You check YOUR history. Ike DID start Vietnam. And no, Truman DID NOT start Korea.

WOW...getting personal there...I was merely pointing out errors in your logic and so called facts...if that makes me a dick...well...then I guess any who ever corrected you is a dick then? Did you tell them to fuck off too??? :roll: :lol:

Ike didn't start Viet Nam...if you REALLY want to cast blame...look at the French colonialism...but I digress...the true escalation to full scale conflict came under Kennedy then Johnson...look it up...it's all there for you to read.

Korea wasn't started by Truman, but you said it was started by Republicans, unless the North Korean leadership was Republican you are WRONG WRONG WRONG.

Recap

Postby gtrplr1960 » Thu May 22, 2008 7:04 am

You obviously had no clue what I was talking about. I was talking about the lack of experience these two democrats have in dealing with the security of our country. I said nothing about wars. Funny that you used the term "disasterous" in your reply. Where did you get that from. Have you ever bothered to talk to an American Soldier and ask them about Iraq. Have you been there persanally? No you haven't and your opinion is BS.

Yeah, yeah. This is why most Americans don't get their "news" from Fox "News".

Well, we learned from the best...after all the negativism in the Reagan and Bush I campaigns, it took the Democrats 12 years to figure out Nice Guys Don't Win Presidential Elections. The neo-cons started playing dirty politics and hardball way before the liberals did.

When in Rome...
