Isn't it funny how a NEW YORK wins the draft lottery to be able to draft Patrick Ewing, or how the CHICAGO Bulls win it this year?

Spurs-Celtics.

Without Bynum, their lack of physicality inside is going to make Tim Duncan's play much easier.

I hope so! I'll never forget the sweet 16 Boston did in '86 over the Rockets. Although Boston really needs a big star to take them through, like they had Bird. Oh well. Lets see how it goes.

Oh, I see. So it wasn't a consipracy when small-market teams wqon the top pick in the lottery. Jackass. Look at the small-market teams that have won since 1971:

2006 Toronto Andrea Bargnani Italy
2005 Milwaukee Andrew Bogut Utah
2004 Orlando Dwight Howard (HS) Georgia
2003 Cleveland LeBron James (HS) Ohio
1997 San Antonio Tim Duncan Wake Forest
1995 Golden State Joe Smith Maryland
1994 Milwaukee Glenn Robinson Purdue
1993 Orlando Chris Webber Michigan
1992 Orlando Shaquille O'Neal LSU
1991 Charlotte Larry Johnson UNLV
1987 San Antonio David Robinson Navy
1986 Cleveland Brad Daugherty North Carolina
1980 Golden State Joe Barrry Carroll Purdue
1978 Portland Mychal Thompson Minnesota
1977 Milwaukee Kent Benson Indiana
1974 Portland Bill Walton UCLA
1972 Portland LaRue Martin Loyola (Ill.)
1971 Cleveland Austin Carr Notre Dame

Only these guys apply to Lottery. Patrick Ewing was the 1st player ever that teams had to do a lottery to get the #1 pick. That year New York obviously won. Before that it was worst record gets the #1 pick and before that, players were regionally protected for draft.

There's pretty much proof that the lottery was rigged in 1985 for the Knicks to get Ewing.

Cleveland did NOT win the draft lottery in 1986, Philadelphia had the first pick and traded it to Cleveland.

Statistically the Cavs were tied with Denver as having the best odds of winning the draft lottery in 2003. I don't know if you know how the NBA's draft lottery works or not? But the worse your record is entering into the draft the better your odds of winning the lottery. So, again, Cleveland and Denver having tied for the worst record in the NBA going into that draft had the best odds of winning the first pick in the draft.

I don't remember what the odds were for the Knicks back in 1985, but from what I recall they did not have good odds of winning it going in. And the Bulls did not have good odds going into the draft lottery that was held last night. If the Bulls had just had the worst record in the NBA this past season, then it would not have been at all surprising that they won the draft lottery. But the odds were very much against them winning it this year, yet they did.

And the draft lottery didn't even exist until 1985.

Wow, you are so full of shit. No wonder John goes after you all the time.

CLEVELAND SPORTS SUCK DONKEY BALLS.

No championships since 1964. Lousy.

The Cavaliers NEVER sold out until they had James.

There were 5,000 fans a game on average at the old stadium before the Indians moved and purchased a better team via free agency.

The Browns have been a disaster since The Drive.

And you don't even have an NHL team.

Lousy fan support - only when the Cadavers or Indians are winning does anyone show up. Only the Browns fans are faithful and hardcore.

That's completely not true. Do you live in Cleveland?? How would you know about the fan support?? I know for a fact that Cavs had great support back during the Mark Price, Brad Dougherty days. As far as the Indians.....they played in that giant monstrosity of Cleveland Browns stadium. It was miserable to see a Browns game there let alone an Indians game. They built a new stadium and the place was sold out.

Seriously. And I'm saying this in all honesty. I'm not saying this to insult you. But you strike me as a guy who has some interest in sports and knows a little bit about sports. But you don't really know very much overall. Your "facts" are anything but facts. You say a great deal of false things about sports. You were miles off on the NBA draft lottery. It didn't start until 1985. You falsly had Cleveland as having won the draft lottery in 1986, when in reality the Cavs traded with Philadelphia to obtain the number 1 pick. You claim that the Indians were getting crowds under a thousand people per night, when in reality a small crowd for them was more like 6 or 7 thousand per night.

Do some research about the 1985 NBA draft lottery. You will find that there are far more people who feel that the draft lottery was rigged that year than there will be people who don't feel that it was. There have been NBA employees that have admitted to having knowledge of the fact that the draft lottery was rigged that year.

By the way, the Cavs used to sellout regularly in the late 80's and early 90's, and have always come close to sellingout almost all games.

Indians fans have always been some of the most loyal fans in all of baseball. We would always have the record for largest crowds at a home-opener every season when we were still playing at Municipal Stadium. We would often get 70 to 80 some thousand fans at each home-opener. The Dead Sox can sellout games because they have a tiny stadium.

And I've found national on-line listings that name Cleveland Browns fans as being the most loyal fans of any sports team in America.

Idiots like Deano try to claim that Cincinnati is a better sports city than Cleveland, which is absolutely laughable. Cincinnati has the Reds and Bungles. Cleveland has the Browns, Indians, Cavs, the Monsters IHL Hockey team, the Gladiators Arena Football League team. We had the Force and later the Crunch that won titles in the MISL until the league eventually folded. And several minor league Baseball teams very near by.

As far as not having an NHL team, were surrounded by other big cities that have NHL teams, like Detroit, Columbus and Pittsburgh, plus we have an NBA team, which Columbus, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati don't have. And if I had to choose, I would much rather have an NBA team than an NHL team.

And until the Dead Sox won the series in 2004 they had gone even longer without winning a World Series than the Indians had. The Celtics haven't won a title since 1986. And the Patriots had never won a Super Bowl until 2002. And that victory and the ones since will always be surrounded in controversy because of the fact that they cheated.

And it would appear that the NFL doesn't even feel that Boston is worthy of having a team of their own, that's why it's the New England Patriots, not the Boston Patriots.

Another thing that should be pointed out. In 2007 the Cleveland Indians payroll was around 71 to 72 million dollars. The 2007 Red sox payroll was around 155 to 156 million dollars, which ranked second only to the Yankees. The Indians was the ninth lowest that year. And yet it took the Dead Sox the full seven games of the series to advance. For years the Yankees have been referred to as "The Evil Empire" because they buy all of their championships. The Red Sox are now often referred to as being "The New Evil Empire" because they have bought a couple of Championships.

Finally, and I know it was Jackass that said this and not you, but it should be pointed out anyway....Jackass himself said in this thread that he feels that the late season trade that the Cavs made hurt their chances of winning a title this year, or of at least advancing very far. Well, if that's the case? And yet the Cavs took the Celtics to the full seven games. Then by that reasoning the Cavs probably would have won the series against the Celtics if they had not made the late season trade. The guys the Cavs got in the trade had not had enough time to gel together and develop a good team-chemistry. And the National media were almost all saying that the Cavs would have won the series if game 7 had been played in Cleveland. And I believe it was Steven A Smith that had said that he feels the Cavs would have beat the Celtics had they not made the late season trade.

And yes Jackass AKA John From Boston, I know how home court advantage works with the team with the better regular season record getting home court advantage.

Oh, another point or two.....

You say that the Browns have been a disaster since "The Drive." The Browns made it to the AFC Championship the very next year. The Playoffs the year after that, despite the fact that we had to start a million different QB's that season because of injuries. And then the year after that we went to the AFC Championship game. We were in the Playoffs in 1995, and 2001.

And out of greed scumbag Art Model moved the Browns to Baltimore. We didn't have an NFL team for several years because of it, and you can't win a title when your team doesn't even exist. Then when we returned as an expansion team in 1999 we were given less time and advantages than the two previous NFL expansion teams had been given, which set us back by a number of years. And there have been books written about how the NFL screwed Cleveland over in expansion.

Look. I don't have anything against Cincinnati. And I've been there many times. But to compare it to Cleveland is like comparing a Major League Baseball Team to a minor league baseball team. Cleveland has the advantage in all most every good category. Cleveland has far more culture, history, you name it, and is a much more beautiful city. Cincinnati has race riots which Cleveland doesn't. And like I already pointed out, Cleveland is a big time sports city, unlike Cincinnati.

None of that makes any difference to me. I appreciate your passion for your town, but don't let that passion cloud your judgment of other people. I know Deano and he's no moron. I'm quite sure he's not the only person on the planet that chooses Cincinnati over Cleveland. Everyone has a reason for their preferences. It usually involves a life experience, or maybe he just likes the colors, the point is, he's entitled to his opinion without being a moron.
