The memo proves beyond questionable doubt that Bush was agressively angling for a way to takes us to war, going so far as to even invent unused provocations. Bush maintains that he exhausted all diplomatic options and had no choice but to invade - a claim he clings to to this day.
This idea has been poo-pooed by more insider testimonials and even some admninistration officials than I care to get into.
By now, if after all the mounting evidence, you still wish to remain willfully blind and braindead that is not my problem.

So rather than enforce the existing UN Resolutions, Bush should have asked for more?

So we just let another possible Cambodia-type situation occur again because WE decide to turn tail and run?

We could just stay there and spend billions more, lose more American soldiers lives and accomplish nothing, like we have so far. The country is worse off than when we arrived because now it's in utter chaos, and have now instilled a far deeper hate towards the U.S. than was there before.

Who was polled here? American citizens? What do you expect? Let me ask you this. How many positive stories have you seen about Iraq on the news? Rick, ever think perception through a liberal media could skew these numbers? When things go well in Iraq all we get from the media is silence. Ever notice that?

Don't know who "thinkprogress" is but I'd be interested to see a current poll following the surge.

I know kind of flies in the face of liberal cries that we're invading to steal all their oil doesn't it!

Look, I'm not a big fan of the post-war, peacekeeping decisions of Iraq's government and our government's decisions on how to carry things out but what you said above is just not true. Iraq is now far from being in utter chaos. It's doing far better now than before the troop surge this time last year (something liberals just can't admit to no matter the evidence) and, yes, there is still some real, substantive progress to be made.
As far as deeper hate, most of the soldiers I've heard stories from tell about how cooperative and thankful the Iraqi people are that they come into contact with on a daily basis. Again, I know of stories from the other side but, for the most part, you don't hear the good stories on the news because, as you know, "if it bleeds, it leads". Good stories don't make for good news, in their eyes.

I agree with your views regarding the media, nothing but vultures.
