American Idol Final (Keep results to this thread)

Talk about it here if so desired.

NOT anywhere else as various countries get it on delay and may not want to know the final result.

My thoughts exactly! Cook is much more versatile. Enchillada delivers every song the same way. Never heard him sing a real rocker. Cook sang all sorts of songs.

Very surprised (thought the 11-year old voters would come through :)) but very glad that David Cook won. He is definitely way more versatile. One of my favorite performances of his was actually the song from Cats - love his rocker side but I thought that song really showed how good his voice can be.

I'm hoping Cook and Michael Johns make some good records - I've never bought AI music from any previous seasons, never even really watched a whole season, but those two I will buy!

Enchilada happened to be my favorite, and I'm not eleven! :?

It's a good thing I didn't watch the show this year or I'd really be pissed.

I'm REALLY not watching it next year. Nope, nada, not a single audition.

I will, however, peek at Simon. What a hunk!

Didn't follow AI this year till today. Certainly DC was the BEST.

His rendition of All Right Now was astounding (just saw it on youtube today), not to mention his nifty little guitar lick on that one (at 1.37 to 1.40). Perhaps a touch of Coverdale vocally. 8)

Throughly deserves. However, I think he's certainly even too good for Idol.

David Cook Yeah!! Voted for him like 50 times last night. David Archuleta is a good singer, but I wouldn't pay to see him. On the other hand David Cook may make some noise. Very talented, and to think he didn't even go to try out.

Anybody else think Carrie Underwood just blew EVERYone away, lol. Also thought she did so on the CMTs.
I'm not even a fan of country music, but she's winning me over with her live performances.
I think her voice live is better than most studio voices.
Just incredible range and control. Love the Cheated and Last name songs, too, lol.
Does anyone know if the rest of her album is as good?

As for the contestants, I really only caught one show, and the person I liked was kicked off on the next one, lol.. (Carly? But I think the tattoos and singing JCS did her in, lol... (I thought it was great)

Yes, CU CD is really good.
The power and passion that Steve Perry has in his delivery is what won me over to be a huge fan.

Enchillada sucks...always has always will.

He's been carried on the backs of the judges for fucking weeks now. If Enchilada were any other contestant, he would have been BLASTED by the judges for forgetting lyrics the way he did on not one but three seperate ocassions.

In fact, in the past, forgetting the lyrics on idol was like the kiss of death. You were thrust off the show by both the judges and the voting public that supported the judges assertions. This past season was a real head scratcher....because I never imagined the worst lyric-offender to make it all the way to the top 2...and that carly simon wanna be girl would've made it past her 2-3 different fuckups. Truly strange...

Let's forget about the fact that Enchilada's voice ISNT mature. It sounds like a 14 year old's voice singing through a bad cold....nothing more nothing less. Lets also forget about the fact that Enchilada has the versatility of a fucking tin can. Every single song he sung this season was either the same style song or if the song wasn't originally recorded in the comfort zone for enchilada, he had Ricky change the arrangement so that it was able to be sung in the style. awful!

Contrast this with cook, who not only has a vocal identity as an artist....he rarely hit a wrong note. Every song he sang was either a killer rendition or new arrangement that left your jaw on the floor.

For those fucking idiot judges to call this a knockout, 2 nights ago....was idiotic. Because, from what I've just read, Cook beat that little enchillada twat breathed little bitch by over 12 million votes.

Some fucking knock out.

Watch Cooks debut album be a huge success and enchilada's debut album to be in the budget bins by the 3rd week of release....what a shit singer.

WHOO HOO! I am one happy woman this morning! David Cook really deserved to win this competition. My top 3 choices would have been DC, Carly, and Michael Johns. Archie should not have been in the final two. Syesha is a great singer, but more along the lines of Broadway than pop star. I would have puked if Jason had made it to the final two. I'm so happy to finally have a rocker win it! My daughter likes both Davids, but she really wanted Archie to win. She won't admit it, but she's got a crush on him. I'm going to try to get tickets for the Idol show here today to surprise her. She'll be happy seeing Archie, and I'll be happy seeing David Cook!

I was extremely happy David Cook won. Based on the judges reactions the night before, I thought I was going to be disappointed but I'm glad DC's fans voted! Michael Johns was my favorite from the beginning but I think DC was the best choice. I've watched AI since the beginning and I have most of the winners CD's so I know I'll have DC's too. lol

LOVED the performance with ZZ Top. Syesha and Seal were pretty good too.

I initially thought Archuleta was going to win. However, after hearing Simon backtrack before the results were announced, I knew Cook was going to win.

The dude lost because hardly anyone seems to be able to pronounce or spell his surname properly!

Vote for David!

I was very surprised...I would've voted for Cook but I was certain that Archaleta would be favored...sorta like when Daughtry lost to "what's his name that you never hear from?". But, I was shocked when Michael Johns was voted off so early...I wanted him to win.

I have been a fan of David Cook's since he did that insane rendition of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. He totally deserved to win.

Also, I found out that the "AC" that has been on his guitars all season are his brother Adam's initials. He has brain cancer.

So I've heard! - just haven't got around to it yet but I should do that. And sorry - I didn't mean to offend David A. fans - I know they're not all 11! Just think he probably appealed more to the younger fans (mainly because of the screamers in the live audience  ) and I think he's just too young himself to be really successful right now.
