Postby TRAGChick » Sun May 25, 2008 12:31 pm

Wow.....FANTASTIC MOVIE!!

However:

Is it just me, or does "Iron Man" look a little bit too "Rocketeer" - ish....?

Other than that....KUDOS to Mr. Downey, Jr....

Looked freakin' BUFF....and gave one HELLUVA PERFORMANCE.

Thoughts?

I love your posts....but you might want to think about toning down on the FONT changes. It is quite distracting. Just sayin....

I am currently disenfranchised oh mighty purveyor of the witty pic!

As for Iron Man...I liked it but didn't love it. Robert Downey Junior was great as Tony Stark and should bring some real emotion to the role of Tony Stark if the planned future sequels include Tony's battle with alcoholism. Either way, he's incredibly likable in the role as was Gwyneth Paltrow and the majority of the cast. I didn't like Terrance Howard as Jim - he was a bit lightweight for me and the ending misfired a little but overall it was a fun flick and a darn sight better than the new Indiana Jones which was spotty at best. The last twenty minutes had the audience I saw it with in hysterics and not for the right reasons. Plenty of action but no tension or sense of danger, not to mention some very ropey digital effects work and THE single worst payoff in film history...probably!

Below is a link to a very entertaining review of Iron Man by a guy called Mark Kermode. He does the movie reviews on BBC Radio 5 on a Friday afternoons.

I think you will need Real Player to listen to it.

Nah... I think that's her smart way of keeping us focused on what she's saying instead of just staring at her avatars... Talk about "distracting"!

Hey, Nora, I'm glad to know I wasn't alone in being reminded a little bit of The Rocketeer... Actually, I think that is a good thing. That film is one of my all-time favorites, and an excellent superhero movie all the way around. It was everything that a movie of its type should be. "Fun" above all else.

My SIL said the movie was great. I know my husband has to see it (he's big on super heroes :) )...and, I LOVE "The Rocketeer".

And, don't change your style, Nora...it's your enthusiasm. :)

You know, I played with the sizes of the body quite a bit to try to match up the head, but I think the original Lynda Carter head looked kinda big, too! I'll redo it, and yes -- I forgot the tiara! I can't believe I did that... LOL!
