and finally....

3- For those of you bitching about those who bitch about new directions for Journey and such....

We wouldn't be here if Journey didn't take a different direction in 1980.

Probably, because they know they're not really going to lose their fanbase no matter what they do. Everyone was all pissed about how JSS was let go and now they're all waving the flag for the band again, a year later. Sometimes I feel like they could commit murder and still have plenty of fans.

Altered, that's a huge stretch. Nowhere in my statement did I insinuate I was looking for people to admire. I don't have a need to admire anyone. I naturally admire talent as do most people. I made my comment to show where my admiration for Neal and Jon begins and ends and that's with their talent.

Right, Sarah, that's what I was alluding to. They were quick to throw SA under the bus when tapegate broke, upsetting a lot of SA fans. Plenty of people jumped on the JSS bandwagon. Poof, they unceremoniously dumps JSS. In comes AP and along with him ..... instant Filipino fanbase. Journey can do no wrong.

Well, even after pissing off fans over JSS/SA they still won over a bunch of people back with Arnel. It's like everyone's brainwashed, lol.

You might have a point. I know in my case, I became a hardcore Journey fan again with JSS fronting, it was like.......Yay! Journey is exciting and new again! And now, am just a casual fan once again. Sorry, but if I want to hear somebody that sounds that much like Perry, I'll listen and watch (cd/dvd) my classic lineup Journey. :? Travelling across the border to catch a couple JSSB shows next month, but won't be travelling to see a Journey show.........that's when I knew I was back to being just a casual fan. I can take it or leave it.

I can smell the smoke from here JoePa. Yes, it's all about the lead singer. Vocals are 90% of my musical enjoyment, if the vocals don't move me then I'm not interested even if the rest of the band is extremely talented. I think that is why I liked Journey and Mr. Big so much, not only did they have killer vocals, the whole band was extremely talented.

How do you know? gee there sure are alot of experts on here about Journey band members.
If you guys think they are such low lifes why are you even here?

Yes, there are alot of experts on here because there's a sizable contigent that have worked with, or been friends with, or have dealt personally with the band members. Not saying I'm one of them, but I trust MR sources more than anything else.

Also, while I'm not a fan of Cain's prickiness and alot of Neal's doings... I'm a MASSIVE fan of their talent and the beautiful music they churn out.

When you eat a hamburger from McDonald's, do you think about the teenager who made it for you, and judge him for toking up every night after work?

When the woman at JC Penney's sells you a blouse do you think about the woman who sold it to you, and think she's a lowlife for enjoying the company of a new man every week?

Seriously! When I listen to Journey music, I don't sit there and think "Man Neal has commitment issues" or "Cain needs to come down to earth" or anything... I enjoy the tunes and let them make me feel how it makes me feel. No more, no less.

I think that's why we're all here. Some of us are moved by the Arnel fronted Journey and some of us aren't. Everybody gravitates to and defends what moves them. :)

Indeed.. also, I wish more people would actually listen to the whole songs next week before judging the Arnel lineup too much. Yes, yes, I admit I may have done so myself before but I've always clarified that it's not my final judgement. Heck, my final judgement probably won't be made until September, when I'll hopefully be seeing them live in Cincinnati and/or Cleveland.

Yeah, right on Deb, I don't get the haters? I can respect all different forms of Journey (although I still think its gross they re-recorded the hits
Perry made famous :? )Why would anyone dissolve a friendship over a rock band? We aren't in that band, we don't know them personally,
we have a multi-faceted life so why would Journey make us enemies for any reason? Anyway.... moving on, people have issues.

I really want to hit up Cincinnati, but it might be a little too far to travel on a Sunday. Are you going to Indianapolis that following Wednesday by any chance?

I don't recall seeing a single thing being said on this thread about friendships being dissolved over a rock band? How does this relate to Cain being a douchebag, really? And the whole "people have issues" remark? Seems as if you're making some veiled sideswipes on certain other members here. That's a display of douchemanship that would make Cain look innocent!

Probably can't make it on a Wednesday due to my strict work schedule. If something changes at all, anything... there's a chance I could be at FOUR Journey concerts in a one week period. We'll see.

JSS is a baritone

But wait, didn't Herbie Herbert say he was an "alto". :P

Why do we have to keep rehasing and trashing?

Who knows? Why do we keep assuming we were all there and passing judgements when we only see part of the situation?

I'm with you on this Deb.
I have pre ordered the new CD from Amazon UK, because I am interested to hear new Journey stuff and it's only £8. Probably if it was more expensive, I wouldn't have bothered.
I am annoyed that it is sold in a package with a re recording of the old stuff. But that can soon be dealt with by a swift blow from a hammer.

I haven't bought a ticket to see any of the UK gigs with Arnel, though. Not that I don't wish him well but I just can't be arsed to go.

Same here.......just kind of 'whatevah' about Journey now, I'll go see them if they play here but won't be spending any $$ travelling to see them. And I will probably buy the new cd/dvd.....mainly for the dvd. After hearing Deen's After The Fall and Mother Father on a concert call from Vegas, I'm hoping one or both of those make the dvd. I like a few of the new ones I've heard. 'Turn Down The World Tonight' has a real 'Promise Her The Moon' from Mr. Big, feel to it. Would like to hear a few of them in their entirety. And the re-records will make a great coaster.

We aren't getting the DVD - just the new CD and the rehash of the classics. No idea why.
I would have preferred the DVD to be honest.
I will smash the re records or use it as a frisbee.
They are playing my nearest city, but when they played with JSS last year it was a smaller venue, this year it's the arena. I hate arena gigs. You can't see anything.
So, to Hell with 'em. I aint going.
I'll spend my ticket money on cake.

They are playing my nearest city, but when they played with JSS last year it was a smaller venue, this year it's the arena. I hate arena gigs. You can't see anything. So, to Hell with 'em. I aint going.
I'll spend my ticket money on cake.

I soooo hear ya on that! I'm sure artists would rather be playing arenas, but from a fan's point of view nothing beats a smaller venue. The JSSB shows I saw last September were GREAT........enjoyed it better than the huge arena show of Bon Jovi's I saw. There is just something about enjoying a concert from a few feet away compared to a quarter mile back. Seeing JSSB (joined by EM) next month in a smaller venue, is just going to send this fan over the moon! :D JSSB puts 100% into their shows, fun stuff! The sights, the sounds, the smells........ok, maybe not the smells.

As someone else already pointed out...If these guys really thought of Jeff as a "relief pitcher", why the hell would they announce the guy as the "permanent lead singer"? The comments these guys make NEVER cease to amaze me. Someone pointed out in the Augeri thread that these guys were somehow "loyal", which is the most fucking absurd thing I've EVER heard! These guys are loyal to their wallets and bank accounts, and NOTHING else! Neal made some ridiculous comments about Perry in his latest interview, and now this. These guys REALLY need to hire a PR firm or simply shut their pieholes!

John from Boston

Thank you! They had Jeff's photo up as a member of the group in the photo line up on the front page.

He was in photos of the entire group on the website.

Jeff's biography was on the site.

This revision of history that Jon is trying to push off is insulting to Jeff, insulting to us and makes him look like a twit.

It really pisses me off.

Hell, JSS is STILL listed as part of the lineup in their BIO.

I think that's why we're all here. Some of us are moved by the Arnel fronted Journey and some of us aren't. Everybody gravitates to and defends what moves them. :)

Oh shut up, I don't give a flip what you think and it had nothing to do with you, seriously please shut up, you post too much! There is nothing
veiled in my posts, people we know on this forum are pissed we like the new line-up.

I wasn't aware that there was a such thing as "posting too much."

Sorry for contributing so much to the forum, I didn't realize it was such a bad thing.
