Being a journey frontman

Stevew2 is a true Journey fan. Been around through all the lead singer changes, went to tons of concerts, spent lots of money on Journey .... I respect that.

(Disclaimer) I do not know him personally. Just from what I surmised through years of reading Journey forums.

Stevew, I was never a member of BT (only lurked), couldn't stomache all the kool-aid drinking for SA, as I was/am a Perryfan through and through. You posted quite regularly over there until you came in here to do battle with Deano over tapegate, then became a believer yourself. I was not a poster at the time, just enjoyed reading all the drama.

I didnt want to believe tape gate ,but it did happen. I went the last 4 concerts that year{except the last one in NC]I saw Steve A in Scranton Pa, and in Hershey Pa ,{the night before} He was struggling, and he had all kinds of inhalers and shit on stage, and I think the tapes were gone then, cause I heard some crackin in his voice, and some realy good singin also. Who knows? Two nights later in NC, his voice was gone. What a sad day.The next night Jeff saved there ass. At the time it didnt do it for me but,he rocked and saved Journeys ass{again}. If Journey would value there lead singer {singers} and not use them as a machine for Neal and Frigga to express themselves, they could have got somewhere.It will be interesting what shannaticanns {you spell that fucker} they will pull this year

It's an honor to be the fronman for Journey, and all bullshit aside, I must say that each individual that has done so did it in an incredible fashion. Steve Perry simply set so the bar so damn high that we're sitting here 20+ years later still arguing about it. That motherfucker is the greatest singer that ever walked the planet. I play that Houston DVD for my friends that hate Journey and they sit there in awe of his vocal power, technique, emotion and delivery.

You also play the Journey CDs so much, you caused an uprising, an outright revolt at a party last year too.
