So, Who else has found Revelation on the shelf at Wal-Mart??

Postby ILjrnyFan » Sat May 31, 2008 2:52 pm

On a hunch, I decided to check it out about an hour ago at our local Supercenter. Found 1 copy in the normal Journey space. None on the endcaps yet. So far, so good!!

Got mine and already partied to it in the woods with my buds.

I guess I should introduce myself. I've been a member here for a couple years. I was also a member at BT from the beginning. Some of you may (or may not) remember me as "motormaster", "Jrny2IL", "James" (Real life name), or even "Jessica's dad".

I just got thru calling every one of them within 30 miles of me, and none on the shelves... I declined to mention it was a new CD, and specifically asked to check the shelves, so I didn't get any "It doesn't come out until the 3rd" answers. Just no luck.

Just checked the two nearest to me - nothing.

However, the larger one is in full promotion mode - video, banners, etc...

The wait continues...

Can't wait 'til Tuesday to get this - I'm diggin' it! No point making the drive to see if it's there today - something tells me it's not going to fly off the shelves in small-town BC - I'm pretty sure most of the goofs around here don't know or care about Journey these days - their loss!

Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on this fairy tale. The CDs won't even arrive at stores until Monday. Monday delivery has been an industry standard for years now, to prevent any outlets putting new product on the shelves over the weekend prior to the official release date, hence Tuesday being normal release day for virtually all new music product.

How the hell do YOU know what was at jrynfan's Wal-Mart? It may be an industry standard, but that's not always how it works! I've heard of a LOT of cases of stores selling products prior to the release dates. A buddy of mine bought an Xbox 360 a WEEK before the release date!

Now say you're sorry!

Nope...not a chance, unless he can produce a scan of his WM receipt. Not holding my breath...

One copy in a WM before the weekend prior to the release date? Not buying it for a second.

Assuming the implication that there were multiple copies there to begin with, that premise is even more far-fetched.

Trust me on this, guys. The OP is engaging in some major chain-yanking...

That's actually not a bad idea... he should take a quick picture of the receipt (scratch out the store # and location to keep them out of trouble), or a picture of the package itself (the disc, not your package). Now how about Gator? Did you get the actual product? I'm just going to call Ellen Degeneres and see if she'll give me hers...
