I think the reason they put Faith in the Heartland on there is because it's called "Faith in the Heartland" and they're selling it in Wal-Mart.

I agree by far. They "frigafried" Arnels voice and the song doesnt have the drive it used to. I wish they would have shortened it by killing the second part of the song I never thought it fit, it drags the song down. should have put good strong ending to it.I like alot the other stuff I heard. I dont hear Arnel improvising to well,I think thats where to languge thing comes in. I was surprised though ,it was better than I thought it would be

Don't quote me on this  But I actually agree with you. This is one of my favorite Augeri songs. The re-make is OK, but IMO it couldn't be done better and should have been left alone.

I love the new album. I will be buying a copy on Tuesday unless I can find it at a Wal-Mart this weekend.

Not too mention those who would think their audio equipment suddenly went on the blink as the crisp sounding production on the CD suddenly turned to mush!

That is the first thing that came to my mind when I heard that... And I had no idea when I heard it that it was meant for Arrival. Really used alot of Augeri's signature sounds on that one.

Is Augeri a Co-Writer on that one? Anyone know?

I'm definitely buying the CD on Tuesday, especially after hearing the "samples" that are no longer available.

I can NOT get "Like A Sunshower", "What I Needed" and "Where Did I Lose Your Love" out of my head.

I like having the hard copy and the inserts and artwork.

I sure hope you like it as well as I do. Journey have outdone themselves on this release. They made mention of hoping for a Grammy. Is it that good? I want it to be, but I don't think it's the right kind of record for a Grammy.

I wish I had you guys' willpower. I've heard the full version of each song just once (I swear 8) ), but the :30 samples on Wal-Mart's website more often. I wanted to wait until I had the CD, but just couldn't.

Cool, thanks Rick. Based on the G.I. Jim's song poll, they're all getting hits.

I'm surprised as hell they got thru the funk they were in for so long but I don't see Grammy in their future either. They should've won it for WYLAW. That song is still an outright classic.

The one that I like most so far is the redone Faith In The Heartland. It's got a few differences, and all of them are good ones. I'm really digging Wildest Dream too. Disappointments? Zero. Actually, the lyrics to Like A Sunshower make you want to puke, but if you don't pay attention to that, the song sounds great.

Yes-and-no for me.
Love Arnel's display of Perry-like operatics towards the end, but Augeri hurled himself into that song with reckless abandon.
Some of that raw emotion is missing here.
I also thought the longer 'Generations' version was really something expansive and quite epic.

Agreed, and I also want to mention that it baffles me how people compare AATY to Faithfully, because it has that same problem.

Well, it goes without saying that not every song can be the next 'Faithfully.'
For whatever reason (maybe the slowed tempo?), I find Arnel connects more with the ballad material.
