NY Times Reviews Revelation:

Voted Worlds #1 Most Loonatic Fanbase

I hve to agree the NYT review totally shocked me, but the world has changed a lot since'81. So maybe a different perspective. Tell you the truth I don't know. I'm really curious to see if RS has already approached them, I'm betting yes and they will have to do it. It will be totally amazing with what's gone on in the past if they now become the RS poster boys.

I dont need to elaborate shit for carpet-bagger fans that feel it's necessary to assume a lack of integrity when there isn't one, just so it fits in with your fucking agenda. fuck off!

Frank, that's enough. Chill out dude.

Seriously though. With what all is going on right now, do you still think Journey is a joke? Do you really think they can make a comeback with this album.

And maybe lighten up a tad on some of the new fans. Yes, they do love Arnel but the new fans are gaining a healthy appreciation for Journey as well.

I've already changed my position on the chances this band has with Pineda out front. While I don't have the delussions of grandeur some of you have, regarding Journey winning a Grammy, Revelation spending 12 weeks at #1 and Neal Schon, Cain & Arnel being on the cover of Teen Beat. I do think they have a shot (i.e. a less than 1/1 chance) to make a minor ripple in the rock undercurrent for a short while.

What I don't respect is some dimwit, piece of shit 6 month fan that not only tries to put words in my mouth, but does so while implying that I am stating something to undercut andrew. Fuck that...I wont let that slide without being checked.

Let me also add for people that don't find a glowing NYT review completely odd, given the fact that Journey is touring with a replacement singer....you should check to make sure shit still drops (i.e. gravity works) in your reality. This is *not* normal...at all...and for anyone that has been a fan of this band more than 12 months, they would see that. It would be black and white to anyone whos been a fan of this band more than 20 years.

So while I understand the motives that drive pink twathead, I don't respect it....yet, given the naivity of her acusations, it makes perfect sense that she didn't even know what Journey was until, maybe this time last year. Some fan, eh? dumb encrusted shitstain of a twat...

Whats not normal is some fat bitter 50 somethin year old to have his life revolve around a band who doesnt know he exists. You are a pathetic loser. Judging from your post, you seem to put alot of emotions into hating me. Good, I hope you die of a heart attack.

Just because you put a laughing face with it..doesn't make saying something like that funny at all..wow..no matter how heated things get here..I don't wish..nor should anyone in joking..something like that happening to someone..

Same. It's good to see this kind of debate/hype/discussion for a Journey album. In 2008. I wasn't around for the excitement of Escape, Frontiers, and ROR. This is probably nothing like that, but as a 21 year old this is cool to be a part of for a Journey album.

I've always contended the reason elitist music publications always belittled Journey and pulverized them in their reviews is quite simple. The guys who write the reviews were playing Dungeons and Dragons and listening to Erasure in their dropout cousin's parents' house's converted basement "apartment" while the rest of us were out partying, living the good life, gettin' laid (well, not really), and having a good time. So naturally, they "rebel" against the music that symbolized their sexual, social, and educational frustrations. So, it's all good.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Sometimes I catch myself watching my sig over and over in awe each time. The guy is purely a freak of nature. Hopefully he gets back to his old habits and trusts in his way of the off-season workout so he can last and have the durability to last a 16 game season and then some. How can you not like Ben as a player? He's truly made for the game of football and we are lucky to have picked up a gem. HERE WE GO STILLERS!!!! and LETS GO PENS!!!! City of Champions..

Now back to your regular scheduled program...

The reason they got a good review couldn't be that the writers from 27 years ago retired or died.....no that couldn't be it.

Oh gee, Sarcasm from one of the resident court jesters....
How is it that certain newspapers maintain the same exact political bias over the same long drawn out period, while one can only assume that writer/editor turnover has existed in some shape or form...during the process?

Arnel changed the entire paradigm. Journey can no longer be labeled American "corporate rock." There's now a portion of the media that views them as "international" and a "feel good story." And we know how they latch on to that sort of shit. In short, the singer is a vast improvement over the last two, but the media's shift in viewpoint is partially/largely due to the hiring of Arnel...not so much on merit, but rather "where" he came from (Pacific rim, poor country, humble beginning). At any rate, it's great exposure, will help the band, and I'm quite sure that in the end they'll prove themselves on merit. The lineup is that good. And if this dude was paid...good...that's what management is supposed to do. Herbie was the master. Seemed to work quite well for him. 8) I would have no problem with that.
