Congratulations WING FANS!!!! The Cup or the right to be Champions is meant to go to the best team at that given time, and by all regards it went to the one that deserved it most, and that team was clearly and without question..Detroit. I've never seen a team with so much power and just fly around the playing area with ease and pounding the opponent in the process.

Sucked it had to happen on a complete FLUKE of a goal, but regardless. We got our ass handed to us on a platter the whole series and I am contend on saying Congratulations to the World Champion Detroit Red Wings. Enjoy

I grew up outside of Detroit and I won't argue that it's a shithole. It's getting better...I went back to Detroit to see Silverchair last summer and I hadn't really been downtown in about 4 years, and it's getting better, there's actually businesses open and the Tigers were playing well so there were actually people in the city, but it's got a long, long way to go before i would strip it of it's shithole status.

Having said that, I'm still a Wings fan till the bitter end, and what a great day for it, eh?

And another season is done.

I feel for the Pittsburgh fans I really do.. With Pittsburgh losing it definately brought me back to when my Oilers lost in game 7 in 06. You've got such a bright future, lets hope that you can keep most of the players that are UFA come July 1st!

BTW.. Pittsburgh has 9 UFAs.. The Oilers had 9 UFA's too that summer..

Lets hope history does NOT repeat itself!! (As in 06) and lets hope that if they can keep most of the team together they can take their lesson from the 83 Oilers and take it all in 09!

Yeah, just got back from Traverse City on Friday. Had to get everything caught up at home, back in the swing of things today.
I told my wife I'd seriously consider giving up following the Wings during game 5. Those overtimes were causing numbness in my arms hands and legs.
Stressful the NHL is!
