Who ever had that idea that it would be smart to tear up every expressway going to the north/northwest suburbs all at the same time?

Holy cripes! You're not even kidding! I had a hell of a time all through April and May with wanting to kill whoever planned that mess! I don't even take those roads, but since they worked on overpasses on 90 and 294, I'd get caught in lane closures and gridlocked stoplights twice on the same street!! Fortunately, other than the Elgin-O'Hare, I take all city streets to work and it's way faster than getting on any of the express/tollways. Plus my commute clocks in at just under 19 miles, which is why I'm on the warpath to get closer to the city right now. I could cut my drive in half, pay $50 more or so in rent, but save about $120/month in gas. Insane... thank you, Cook county.

The NW burbs aren't so much the boonies anymore... you'd pretty much have to take a trip up to McHenry Co to get to nowhere now! Lake in the Hills/Crystal Lake area is lovely though. Bakery in EGV? Do you mean the Baker's Square at Busse & Oakton? I drive by that twice a day (part of my commute), but haven't ever stopped in. ...What do you suggest purchasing at said bakery?

Just got back from lunch and while walking through Sam's Club they had "many" copies of the Wal-Mart version on sale for $10.72.

That is just an insane price for what you get.

It is and it isn't... this, The Eagles release among others are the industry's belated acknowledgment that we just weren't going to put up with 10 tracks for $15+ when we could buy them for 99c each or even worse pirate them. Maybe there is hope for the record industry if they actually embrace the changing times. The real insanity is how long it took them to do it, even against the mounting odds of shitty sales, consumer backlash against litigation, and consumer complaints about the overall quality of product (read: shit) the labels were foisting on us. I see most major releases, especially from "legacy acts" being a package bargain deal from here on out, at least until hard copies of music are completely obsolete. And I love it.

My package at Wal-Mart cost me ON JUNE 3RD (non 24-hour store), $9.72 plus tax, here in the San Diego area.

My reciept says "was 11.88 you saved 2.16"

I did!!!!! I walked out on him at the South Bend show. uh--make that STOMPED out on him. i was fuming and then came the waterworks in the foyer.

I'm sure he is an ok guy and he has a great voice but a whole album of Journey covers is just a little strange. imho. which means nothing, i know.

We had long overnight flights from CA & by the time we got picked up it was around 5 am, still dark, and the bakery was just opening. It was warm & comforting with the smell of fresh baked bread...and it hasn't changed since I was a kid - they even had the little plastic ballerina cake decorations (bought them & now use them for my girls birthday cakes)...anyway, get the eclairs - they are the best. Living in So Cal for the last 26 yrs there are very few things that stick around & stay the same...there are no real bakeries here...or things of that sort.

Gene and Judes' is on Grand and River in River Grove. Next door to where the Thirsty Whale used to be. Kinda on the way to KiddieLand in Melrose Park.
Good hot dogs and fresh cut fries (which are placed on top of the hot dog)...yum...and the tamales aren't too bad either!
