First Day Sales - Curious

Postby Memorex » Thu Jun 05, 2008 9:06 am

How does one find out what first day sales are? Is that even a number that is made available? I know there were a couple hundred sales from the people on this and other boards, especially with the double purchases. After about 3500-5000 illegal downloads, it seems to have peaked. I think it will sell a lot more when they are on tour and each local market plays their stuff (albeit old stuff) and reminds people they are still around.

I'm just curious what the demand was.

First Day Sales for this are moot considering
that most Walmarts didn't even have their
exclusive fucking product on the shelves!

I'd bet it's the best 1st Day/1st week sales Journey has seen
since the release of TBF...

At least for me, this is the 1st Journey release
since TBF that I just HAD to have on the day it
came out.
I actually got the Japan-Release of Arrival a month
before it came out in the states, Red-13 months after
it's release and Generations 2-3 weeks later...
Welcome to Terminus... You hungry?

Yeah, I don't think the 1st day sales will be a big deal. but I am curious as well. Shame to find out that the regular WalMarts didn't have the disc out until the 4th. That's ridiculous!

I believe www.soundscan.com will have the info but you have to be a member and it looks like that is a subscription service for industry personel.

The Wal-Mart I bought mine at is NOT a 24-hour store and they had it on the 3rd.

My friend bought it at 7:00 am when our local walmart opened up. He said they had plenty.
